So im in a tournament and there are 10 players left 5 on each table
im last in chips so im watching the other table hoping to god that someone goes all in so i cash and what do you know just that happens. A kid busts out leaving 9 people left but we are still in hand for hand. so i look at my cards and see 88 beliving that im in the final table i go all in with my 88 loose and FT tells me i came in 10th place. | He had more chips than you did prior to the start of the hand, meaning that since you both busted out on that hand, the player with more chips gets placed higher. |

If 2 people go out in the same hand in Hand-for-hand mode then the player who started the hand with fewer chips (you) finishes lower.
And this doesnt meet my expectations given the title of 'greatest story ever' |

Actually its the fairest way of doing it. It's what Hand-for-hand means. |

From http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/tourRules.php :
| Quote: |
25. If two or more players are eliminated on the same hand, the player with more chips at the beginning of the hand is placed higher. If players started the hands with an identical amount of chips, both players tie for that rank, and any prizes due to those players will be equally distributed between them. In rare cases, two players may be eliminated at the same exact time at two different tables. In such a case, the players will be treated as if they were eliminated on the same hand.
26. Hand-for-hand dealing may be enacted during any tournament. This renders the practice of playing slowly useless. Hand-for-hand play is generally implemented as players approach the money, and as players approach the final table. During hand for hand play, all tables will be considered to be on the same hand until they all complete their hand in progress. Therefore, players eliminated at different tables may be considered to have been eliminated on the same hand. |
The rules are there for anyone to read. It's your own fault if you don't know them. |

| Isn't this just common poker knowledge anyways? Or at least for anyone who knows anything about poker? |

| Why did you think you played hand for hand? The whole point of hand for hand play is to make sure somebody isn't screwed out of making the money because another table is stalling and waiting for somebody else to bust. |

I'd suggest that instead of bjtching about getting screwed, learn the rules before you're put in that situation.
If you were concerned about making the final table, and you had taken a moment sometime prior to this game to know what hand-for-hand play means, you could have folded 88.
You have nothing to blame except your own stupidity. |
