| I played Limit Hold Em the other night. It's even worse there, they're all at it. |

I have some advice. Don't let them in the pot with a min-raise. Make a substantial re-raise so that their disguised hand won't have the odds to play. |

Typically, late in a SnG with high blinds, you can count a PF minraise as a "real" raise. Just play however you would play had the player done something "normal."
Once you get some reads, you can begin to treat them differently, but until then it is pretty safe to treat them like a real raise. |

You would probably get better responses about how to cope with minraises in SNGs if you posted this in the SNG section.
Early on you can almost treat it as a limp. Instead of letting it frustrate you, this usually works best. That is, unless it's a minraise of a huge bet or when the blinds are big later on. You can also add this to your arsenal when the blinds or the pot is big, as it is treated almost the same as a standard raise, yet your risking less of your chips to find out essentially the same information.
In fact, iirc, there's a thread in regards to this topic (in cash games), somewhere in this NL/PL section. |

I'd like to find that thread renegades, as I've been thinking about it a bit after witnessing it used by a couple of players in the nosebleed games(DaEvils is the main player that comes to mind). He was primarily doing it OTB, seemingly for pot control with marginal hands that he wanted to play in position.
For example, when he pot bet OTB it would be $350 and the 3 bet from the blinds was around $1,200-$1,300. When he lead out for $200, the 3 bet was $800, which he'd call frequently. It was interesting to watch. |

Yeah I've seen him discuss this in some videos and it seems to be working out well for him. It forces his villains to either make their 3-bets a lot smaller or really overbet. When they choose the former he can call with a lot more hands, since the stacks are deeper, and when they choose the latter their risk:reward ratio is a lot more unfavorable than normal. In addition it lets him play with deeper stacks in position when called and also works well vs. all the annoying pushbot shortstackers. |
