I would prefer 3-betting PF. Even nits open up their range on the button. Do you have a btn steal % on the guy? (Even if it's very narrow, I'd still rather 3-bet.)
As played I think that line is fine. |

| I'd 3-bet pre for the reasons nilgiri already mentioned. As played I'd usually just check again. You're not going to fold out better or get action from worse very often, villain is unlikely to have all that many outs and I don't really think you need to worry much about the hand being too tough to play after checking. |

| i think you should have reraised the button(maybe to 3.50$), to see if he really has a hand or he just wanted to steal the blinds. |

| 3bet preflop. I agree with probably just checking the turn, but if you 3bet preflop I don't mind betting out on the flop or turn as much. As played check the turn. |

+1
I've been trying to really focus on my lines I take recently as I think I tend to spew and bluff/vbet thinly too much. I especially used to do this in small pots like this where I couldn't resist the temptation to steal the pot, despite the fact that the line I was taking really didn't make sense vs his folding and calling ranges. This is just one of those spots where you aren't folding out much better hands and are often putting your money in behind. If you just focus more on your opponents ranges and what you are folding/getting value from, you are going to see significant improvements in your game.
And I agree with 3 betting too. |
