So here is a great place to see exactly how not managing your bankroll properly can lead to bad bad things... thought this was a very interesting read..

This is an interesting piece that takes a look into the (all too common, I'm afraid) mind of the compulsive gambler.

(Strangely enough, many people that I tell that I play poker online cite stories like this one and treat me like I have a cocaine addiction, no matter how carefully I explain the concept of bankroll management.)

I think all new players should hear a story or two like this (although the ones most likely to get addicted are also going to be the ones most adept at justifying addictive behavior). I also think it should be paired next to the Chris Furgeson 10k experiment.

ATTN: Good Bankroll Management = 10k in cash, Bad Bankroll Management = 20k in Debt.

I don't know how truly useful this article is. First off, he states that his real trouble started when he switched to Black Jack. Second, he says he came from money and he's barely out of college. I know plenty of guys like that who will find a way to blow their money simply because they have no "Life Management" skills. If it's not poker, it will be drugs, prostitutes or, if they're lucky, therapists.
