Full Tilt Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN): $168.65
SB: $100
BB: $151.35
UTG: $64.25
MP: $110
CO: $100

Pre-Flop: J T dealt to Hero (BTN)
UTG folds, MP raises to $3.50, CO folds, Hero calls $3.50, SB folds, BB calls $2.50

Flop: ($11) 5 3 T (3 Players)
BB checks, MP bets $7, Hero calls $7, BB folds

Turn: ($25) 6 (2 Players)
MP bets $18, Hero ???

Was my flop call too passive? What do I do on this turn? MP is 19/16/3.3 over 103 hands. I'm 23/19/1.5. I know I would usually fire another bullet here with ATC against a thinking player, but what does that mean I should do?

Fold pf. Or if you are going to play that, 3 bet it. But I'd only 3 bet this if I had not been 3 betting much and I know that my opponent will give me respect.

Actually I don't think that the 6 is a very good double barrelling card. I might just go for the triple barrel here on this board if the villian has been calling down 2 barrels with say 77 on this type of board. But I don't think he can expect to get you to fold 77-99 with another bet. Also, the T only hits JT, AT, and TT on his range here. I'd expect to see a set or an overpair a lot here after he double barrels, and maybe also some A high flush draws. The only thing I'm not to sure about is whether or not the villian knows what is and what isn't a good double barrel card.

As played, I fold the turn for the reasons I gave earlier about this not being a double barrel bluff very often. And don't raise the flop. Raising the flop folds out all worse hands, folds out no better hands, and puts more money in the pot against his better hands. Your hand is basically a bluff catcher.

Last minute edit before I post this: Thinking back I do think he could have 88 or 99 OTT and bet out again, but I don't think he has it often enough to warrant calling. His range is much more weighted to bigger hands.

Why? Do you expect to get called by worse often? The only worse hand he would call with is a flush draw, but a flush draw with one overcard is flipping. All other hands he has that will call the raise have you beat really bad. On top of that, you give up any chance that he will bluff you on later streets.

fold preflop, j10 is overvalued a lot i think, & if played ur looking to flop a draw, especially when suited, not make a pair cuz then u have to worry about kicker trouble

Fold preflop to avoid spots like this.

Thanks guys. Folding PF seems to be the way to go. I didn't feel I could continue this and just folded OTT.

I don't mind the raise, if it's just something you throw in your arsenal from time to time. I actually like the call on the flop. After this stage your hand is now a drawing hand, looking for two pair/trips...Unless you have an exceptional read on an overly aggressive player...I like the smooth call on flop, would fold after turn.

I'd fold pf, but once I get there, I think I'm calling the turn. I'm playing this hand like a calling station post flop.

Do you play on other sites (like AP or UB)? If so, I'd like to add your name to the buddy list.

I generally don't mind this line of thinking. I would definitely fold this preflop. despite some popular belief I'm pretty much a nit.

PS: DDA Where you been bro? You should be on aim more.
