I'd love to see something in place that forces play chippers to earn a certain amount of play chips playing limit holdem before they can play NL holdem. When Chris Ferguson started playing online poker via IRC I believe they made the buy-ins to the cheapest NLHE games higher than the amount of chips they started you with. Players had to win enough chips playing limit holdem before they could play NLHE. Would definetely make play chippers take the game more seriously.

Great idea, not only making them take it more seriously but would help them learn the value of hands. I know it helped me alot when i first started. Might stop e'm smashing their stack into every pot with any old poo.
Got to admire pot limit players its harder than it looks.

here is why people who play in the playchip section would want to buy play chip. Lets say you dont want to invest real money into a poker site and just want to get to a playchip table with some friends and just bs for a while and not worry about winning or losing. See the thing is when you start off with play chips you start with 1000 and can only play the 5/10 tables. I have known people who have paid for playchips just so they can sit at higher levels of table to where you dont get as much(notice i didnt say you dont get at all) hit and runners who can be quite annoying.

Plus people who would want to buy playchip want to have a comfort zone so where they dont have to keep hitting reload and play at low levels where it is lotto and not so much poker.

I can see how people can buy playchips. but it is against the rules. thats the best way i can discribe it.i was a playchip only person 2 years on here before playing real money. and as soon as i hit one big huge win. (in the high 4 digits or higher) im going right back to playchips. I enjoy playing playchip every once in a while.

Nobody can explain to you why anybody does anything, it would only be a guess unless you talk to the person doing it.

The forum has a search feature which allows you to find the few hundred threads that have already been posted on these subjects as well as the add on programs.

Ok Thanks for all the comments ,some enlightening, some not so,hehe.
As someone posted,I guess trying to reason why some people do certain things is impossible as many do not act in a reasonable manner.
