Well, the purpose of this topic is pretty clear... I see a lot of topics about how to play premium hands... I'm more interested in your bluffs. So post your most outrageous bluffs here, and tell me what you were thinking while you pulled them off Very Happy

I'm especially interested in why you think the bluff will be successful... Wink

I bluff on what the board is offering. Usually that's flushes.

I like this bluff from the last game I played. Just looked like he had a potential hand but nothing big. When the second 9 hit and he didn't play it I played like I had the set. worked like a charm.

It was a bit of a gamble the players to my left might have the 9 but I was in the chip lead at the table so tried it. Any callers and I was folding on the river.

Do you only bluff if you have a chip lead or one of the biggest stacks?

I tend to bluff into tight players, regardless of my chip stack.

It might sometimes fire back at me, but they are most willing to fold, no?

I don't tend to bluff a whole bunch. I find myself doing it more with a chip lead though because it's easier to recover from someone busting you on your bluff I think.

Also I do it mainly for blind steals when in position as the table tightens up near the bubble. I usually don't bluff when it will knock me out unless I have a semi hand at least.

Raising from the SB with 72o when everybody folds around to you. Would you consider it an outrageous bluff?

Not really, if you have been playing tight, solid poker and have been showing down quality hands, this could be a very good spot to pick up the blinds. If you have been playing loose or the BB is a calling station, just forget about it.

I'd consider it a far more outrageous bluff if you did it UTG in full ring.
