Took down $325 and 4th place the the Early Double A on FT today. I'm very happy about that, but what frustrates me is the extra 100 i would have made if i sat back and thought for a couple of minutes.

There are 4 left, 1 is sitting out and blinding out fast He's at ~25K with the blinds at 20K and 10K. I wake up with KK in the small blind (dominating chip leader to my left). I have about 200K at the moment, and decide to shove rather than a standard raise. The slowrolling son of a **** lets the time bar reach 2 and turns over AA and i got knocked out after he caught a set on the turn. Sat around and watched and it was a whopping 3 hands till the guy sitting was eliminated... This made me sick.

I mean i know i wasn't playing for 3rd place, i wanted that 1000 for 1st. But the extra hundred would have been nice. What you all you have done in this situation?

you're playing to win, so you're always playing the KK. The open push, maybe questionable - although odds are you'd have all your chips in the middle since the CL had AA.

Only time you would fold KK is if this was a satellite on the bubble and you know you could wait it out.

there's nothing you can you. you got coolered. folding there would just be burning money. remember, he's going to have worse hands sometimes, and when you hold up against them your stack will put you in a much greater position to win the whole thing. that's a lot better than moving up to 3rd from 4th place.

You have to play to win at the end of the day. 4 handed in the short blind with KK, your not going to find the BB with Rockets alot of the time.

You absolutely made the right choice. No question.

You said it yourself... You don't play to take 4th, 3rd, you play for it all. Limiting off hands to inch in on a higher payday will lose you MUCH more money in the long run. Don't fall into bubbler's syndrome.

To answer your question, I would have made a standard raise, snap-called a push and high fived my monitor, as has already been alluded to in the replies to date.

I'm curious what you're disappointed about. What would you have done differently? Are you saying you wish you'd have folded KK since homeboy short stack was about to go out?

I don't get it...

well i get it, its just the fact he couldve made $100 by doing nothing, and missed it. The 25k stack was going out, and he couldve waited.

but fact of the matter is, this was a cooler, you played the way you shouldve and gl with your prize money.

Right decision. The 200:1 just gets you sometimes.
