What's the river play after this horrible river card? Villian is a pretty bad laggy donk.

Well, the main issue here is does he have an Ace, obviously.
I'm calling for a couple of reasons. His UTG limp looks to be either a big hand waiting for a PF raise, or just some sort of drawing hand, suited connectors or something. I'm leaning toward it being anything other than an Ace. Limping UTG with a Weak Ace doesn't seem likely, and if he was playing it sneaky with a big hand, I wouldn't expect him to just call down to the river, I'd expect him to raise either the flop or the turn.
What types of hands is he limping UTG, calling down, and firing out on a checked river? If seems as if he hit a piece of the flop, or maybe has a similiar hand to yours, where you'll chop.
If we don't put him on an Ace, we have to call, not necessarily for 1/2 the pot (cause it's small), but to get the information to see what hand he played so unusually. |

| +1. Limping with an ace here seems unlikely 9 handed. He might have a 9. at best. |

| I'm torn. I'd probably call here as he could likely have a nine or even be overplaying two pair, but I've seen plenty of "pretty bad laggy donks" as you put it limp with any ace. It's entirely possible he played a suited ace (First Rule of being a Donkey is, "Always play your soooooooted aces!") and just couldn't lay down his killer straight draw, but I'd call anyway. |

| this is pretty sick but call because he can definitely be betting the 9 for value as well as bluffing. i'm not feeling to great about it though. |

I have to disagree with the quick dismissal of a Ace possibility. What are you going to do with AT, AJ, A9 from an early position? Depending on the table limping in is a good option. Therefore cubbies's & goomlah's quick dismissal of the Ace is wrong.
I think HuJwang's feeling sick does sum it up. It's a sick feeling either way. |

| It still seems more likely that's it's KT KJ instead of AT AJ IMO. He would bet any of those cards though. |

LAGGY Donks will play just about anything from any position right? So, why couldn't he have an Ace/rag? That takes care of the Loose part, but has he been generally aggressive or passive? Limping UTG is a pretty passive play, unless he was sitting on a monster hoping for a raise PF. I think this guy's gotta have something made to keep calling you down, unless he's a station donk on a draw he can't run away from. Based on your read, I think he hit his A high straight, but I'd call just to see for $6. I noticed his stack was $25 even. Had he been sitting long and re-loading? How did you get your read on him?
Now, I'm liking the KJ or K10 better, but I'd lean toward QK since he knew he could call a PF raise with it. I don't think even a bad player would call you down BOTH times without top pair at least. You checked the river showing weakness and he thought his 2 pair was good. Had you been caught bluffing/semi-bluffing on draws? This is a bad spot, but it's only $6 on a closing call to find out and learn something foe next time. |
