What you call me being angry is really just you not being willing to admit when you are wrong. you started this thread with the intention of making a veiled insult at others on the forum.
Thats the kind of member that moderators are supposed to censor.
Instead you participate and encourage this behavior in others.

If I did have to circumvent a ban I can assure all of you that it would be no secret that it is me. I have routinely stood behind what I say so I would not want to hide my identity.
Maybe if you opened your eyes you would se that I am certainly not the only one that has accused wang of being an incessant troll that continually posts personal attacks in lieu of relevant posts. Maybe everybody is wrong and you are right but doubt it. The side of the argument that you are taking is populated by people just like kiwi with pearls of wisdom such as 'to long, didn't read it' which I find to be the idiotic thing ever said on a forum. Why would someone ever use a forum if they do not want to read? Oh yeah, because they want to run their mouth at others with no regard for the discussion.
On my side you will find a number of posters that have come and gone. They left because they had the good judgment to realize this is not a community that values intelligent thought out replies and instead favors and elementary school mentality. I unfortunately have a crazy idea that staying and making some waves might benefit everybody just a bit more than allowing a bunch of trolls and bullies to rip potentially decent posters with personal attacks.

veiled insult? It's an interesting article which definately can apply to alot of poker players, along with most other hobbies and professions out there. If anything, it should be a potential eye opener instead of an insult. The only way I can see this being perceived as insulting is if the article strikes too close to home for your own comfort, in which case I can understand the defensive stance towards it (and to fend of any misunderstandings at once, by "your" I don't necessarily mean you dumwaldo, but more of a general "your"). |

Well, I was more referring to the tone of your posts and the personal insults when I called you angry. The actual content has little to do with it.

No. I started the thread because I happened to find that article somewhere and found it interesting. What's insulting to some people is the title, and I wouldn't say that it's very veiled. It is only half serious however. Besides, I'm only insulting incompetent people anyway, so does it really matter?

If you happened to banned, you know that you wouldn't have to circumvent it, right? You could just go away until your ban was up. I find it fairly unlikely that you'd get permanently banned right away, but very likely that circumventing a temporary ban would greatly increase the chances of a permanent one. If you did end up permabanned, why come back anyway?

No, you're right, there's another guy who's also accused HuJwang of trolling. In fact, after your post about him a while back he became so ashamed that he requested the title "forum blight". If "everyone" is made up of the two posters I think you're talking about, I wouldn't be surprised at all if you were wrong and I was right. In fact, I've actually been right once before despite several people disagreeing with me. They may even have been as many as five! As for the tl; dr thing, it's clearly an attempt at humor.

I'm really curious who those posters are, would you mind making a list? I also don't think "intelligent" means what you think it means. Unfortunately it seems like I let myself get carried away and ended up arguing with you. That's something I've been trying to avoid for quite a while, since I've never seen an argument you've been involved with get resolved or end in something productive. I'm mentioning this to save you from repeating the same stuff in a new post, since there's a good chance I won't respond.
hint: taking a joke/sarcastic remark/whatever and pretending you think I'm serious while completely ignoring an actual point is not a good way to turn this into a productive discussion that has a chance of continuing. Neither is making things up or making gross exaggerations and presenting them as reality. |

This is one area that I would disagree on. The reason for this isn't in the general conclusion but in the paper. A conclusion that may be generally correct doesn't make a flawed study any less flawed. Personnally, if I were to use a example as evidence for the conclusion reached, the example of the Idol competition (as first suggested by another forum writer) is far more compelling. |

I've seen you mention that Idol thing several times without backing it up with any reasoning. They did have something like that in the study, only it was humor instead of music. While an example like that is more illustrative and probably easier to grasp, it's also worse as actual evidence because of the subjective nature of art. So I agree that it makes a great example, but I disagree about it being better proof than something that can actually be objectively measured. |

Perhaps if you were to educate yourself a bit, like that reading comprehension I suggested then you might understand the things I say. I try to write in a way that most people with a high school education should understand so it is not that much to strive for to be able to educate yourself enough to understand my writing.

If you were half as critical of yourself as I am of myself then you would be twice the man you are which is sorely needed since you are at best half a man as it stands.
The fact that people post such nonsense as they do on the forums here is not really surprising. Trolls like wang are just standard forum fare. Every village has an idiot. The fact that YOU, as a MODERATOR, participate in the activity and protect others that do it is simply disgusting. Grow a pair of balls and act like a man... like a man with a brain in his head.
Most of the internet views this forum as a joke because the lax moderation allows such childish behavior. You turn a blind eye in favor of the guy that has no life and posts 20 o 30 times a day and allow them to bully anybody they wish because the forum would be so boring without their irrelevant antics.
FTPDoug doesn't even bother to post official information on this forum because it is such a joke. How does it feel to be a moderator on a forum that is such a joke they guys that pay for it to be here can't even be bothered to use it? That is something I would be ashamed of if I were in your place but these days you have left me wondering if you even have the intelligence, common sense, or sense of shame to understand that.
You are supposed to be a MODERATOR, not a judge. You are not supposed to be judging the worthiness of an opinion, you are supposed to be moderating so the discussion is civil. You fail miserably at that.
If poster A comes and says 'I believe online poker is rigged because the following reasons' then poster B comes and replies 'Eat it you moron', it doesn't matter that you agree this moron should eat it, you are supposed to remove the rude comment. Instead you turn the blind eye and offer sanctuary to any and every troll that chooses to sit under this bridge.
