now before i get started please be advised in advanced that I do not think online poker is fixed but it is not like the real thing.
And my biggest point is that if online poker was so good that the pros that shill for this site on tv would be playing here in droves just to shoot the fish in the barrel.
I have watched my balance get chipped away little by little and am convinced that the software rewards bad play as apposed to tight play.
I cant begin to tell you how many 2 out beats I have taken on the river at this poker site. certainly more then I have ever seen in live play and the word is seen not experience . Sure I have had beats before, been outplayed but what you see online is incredible and many many many people say the same thing. But of course you see and experience more beats you see more hands then you do live. that makes me think the more you see the worse its going to get.
lets face it the 2 out beats on the river is what they are always showing on tv so that what most people who have never played expect and if you didnt let the new guy win he would never be back and if the better player takes beats he says to himself it can only get better.
Its all hogwash the truth is that online poker is a scam and some people are getting filthy rich using slick marketing tactics with software that is the same software that a slot machine uses. How many pro gamblers have made it big playing slots? plus the RNG is always shuffling the cards...always even when the hand is in progress what live game does that.
the vast majority of people playing online have never even stepped into a casino so they dont know the difference between the two.
I know all the really really good and bestest poker players in the world are going to reply and tell me I just dont know how to play and online is just like the real thing when the real point is that I should have never made the first deposit and should be ashamed of myself for making the second one after knowing something was wrong.
Online poker is not rigged they dont care who wins they do however care who ends up losing.
And my biggest point is that if online poker was so great the pros would be playing here in mass quantities to shoot the fish in the barrel but you never see them except for that no name norberg guy who I have never seen on tv.

Those fish in a barrel s you call them typically reside in at most $8 SNGs or so, and its typically not worth the pro's time to play them.

Look in any of the bigger buy-in tournaments, especially the FTOPS events. You'll find countless amounts of pros playing in them.

You start of good but:

and of course, the glue that holds it all together (the "it's not rigged, but it's rigged" classic):

And finally something that warrants a fair reply:

The low limits are the fishiest, and they're nickel and dime games for the high profile pros. There's still alot of "low profile" pros (people making a living from poker) online, they're just not color coded full tilt members.

Let me ask you this. Why would pros play online when they could play against just as bad players at a casino for much higher stakes?

Dude, Have you seen how many professional poker players (people who play for a living) there are?

Theres over 100 on here, about 30 on PS, as well as the likes of UB, Bodog etc - and the big name players who are not registered as pros eg Durrrr, Genius, Present etc, plus a heaps of guys who play maybe at lower leves like $200/$400NL who do it for a living as well. theres tons!

Poker isn't an organized sport like baseball or hockey. There are no lists of professional players or ways to find out how much money they make. There are no contracts, and people can become, or quit being, pros at any time they want.

Most pro poker players don't want to be known as pro players. That can kill their action. What casual player wants to play in a game filled with sharks? Besides, most of the "pros" you see on TV aren't nearly as good as many of the online grinders. Most TV pros are just well known because they got lucky in a couple major events.

Yeah true man. I was watching Phil Ivey play heads up on FTP on a high stakes table. He made a shocking call for $30k. I saw him lose $100K that day.

Thats only 1 buy in to him though, it jjust sounds a lot because its not money normal pelple are used to. Thats like you playing $100NL and losing $100.....which if you have a bankroll is nothing to freak about.

He outweighs that by the amount of times I've seen him leave that table like $300k+ up......

Feel free to give any of them a shout on here, apart maybe from some of the dedicated online players like Townsend, Durrr etc. A lot of them probably prefer casino to online.

I love these people.

I wonder what excuses they come up with when they lose at the casino too. The dealer was rigged?

Hey, if live poker wasn't rigged, you'd see more pros running casinos and not being hosts for online tournaments! Razz
