I would fold because I have such a big stack. I would rather give my blind to him than give him some more chips to enable him to get back into the game. The guy is going to be eliminated soon, if we don't do it, Brian will. No need to give him extra chips, just wait patiently for a somewhat better hand, imo.

If we fold, he is guaranteed to have ~1.5k chips. If we call, we have a chance to take him out (whatever chance that is), and only if we lose he will he have ~2k chips. Even if he has a 70% chance of winning (and I think that's high vs. his range), still, almost 1/3 of the time we take him out! And only a bit more than 2/3 of the time does he gain ~500 more chips than he would have had.

I probably just shove here. Folding and calling seem to be out of the question. If you're going to raise, imo you might as well just shove to pick up as much fold equity as possible. That way you also avoid a tricky spot if he calls, and if he shoves it would have been better to be the one shoving.

Nice.

Shove that KQo. Blinds are too high to play anything but push/fold now, and KQo is a pushing hand!

Yeah, shove.

With an even better hand like QQ KK or AA, I would complete the blind and try to trap him. But this hand is good enough to shove.

Now here's a spot I haven't really figured out yet... how to react to a guy who should be in push/fold mode who is instead insisting on limping from the SB. If I have a decent hand I just push over the top, but what about a hand like 75o?

Your hand doesn't matter, imo. He makes a big mistake by letting you see a flop for free. So just check and watch the flop is what I would do.

You also said Brian has been kind of tight throughout the tourney, he has a marginal hand here I think and is afraid of raising against the big stack.

I just check here, especially with no real reads on his HU game.

Just check imo. You've just started playing HU so you don't really know what kind of hands he's limping with, and if you double him up you're almost even. I'd also like to build up somewhat of a tight image so I can get some more fold equity on my shoves.

Ok, skipped a few, and feel free to comment on any of the above hands. Anyone bet that flop w/ the 75? Call the shove with T9? Do something other than fold the 24o or 28o? Is there a way to get him to shove into our QQ instead of fold? (lol)

What about the J5s?

All the previous hands seem standard, nothing I'd do differently.

I don't think we're really short enough to shove here, and folding seems kinda nitty. I don't really have a problem with limping with these stacks.
