Cardschat $5 Forum tournament, just got moved to this table fairly recently but I'm assuming most players are pretty good since they usually are in these tournaments. Not really sure about all streets, but I checked behind the flop since he's probably check/folding a lot and I'm almost always ahead here and want him to catch the turn to get some value. Not a great turn card so I raise to get value. His minbet on the river seems extremely weak, is it standard to raise here? Does he have a ten or a flush draw a decent amount of time because of the way he played the turn? I think folding the turn at any point is pretty nitty, but do I fold at the end or even just smooth-call his minbet? Or maybe even raise less?

I'd probably just smooth call on the river. After all those cards are out, aces aren't so strong and I'd still be happy with the size of the pot on the river - if you win there with 1 pair it's still a nice pot.

I agree. Generally speaking, it's a bad idea to raise on the river with a medium strength hand, because if they have a weak hand, they'll fold anyway (meaning you got no extra value by raising vs. calling) and on this board, with the flush draw and paired flop, aces are, unfortunately, just a medium strength hand.

On top of that, he called your re-raise on the turn. My guess is he has the 10, and checked the flop to give you time to decide to put in more money. I'd just call his bet, but not be surprised if he has the 10.

Normally I do call here but the min-bet seems incredibly weak, hence why I raised here which I thought was for value. Would it be OK to raise here, but just for less, like making it around 400 or 500?
