Online Poker Forum at Full Tilt Poker

I'm looking for a training program/software to improve my game.
A simulator that lets me play hands and tell me where I could have made better moves and also WHY my move was wrong/weak.

NOT one that shows how many times I saw a flop or what my call/raise percentages are as these don't mean a lot if you don't know why your moves are incorrect.

Hope this makes sense lol.

While the version I've seen is just for fixed-limit holdem, Wilson Software's "Turbo Texas Holdem" might be what you're looking for.

One answer is the one Boomer gave. Another is that there aren't really any simulators that will be able to accurately tell you those things. Poker is a really complex game and what you do should often depend so much on what you've seen your opponents do in previous hands and what they've seen you do that some kind of simulator won't do much good. Just play the game, see what works and what doesn't and think about why.

You have one of the best training programs right here. Play chip.

Get into it and play. play alot.
I started with no real knowledge. Played pot limit to learn the value of good and bad hands.
Played no limit to learn bluffing and loose play.
There is no better way to learn than to do.
People bang on about play chippers not being that good but its like anything there are really good play chippers out there and just because its free it does still mean something. they play for PRIDE and pride will take you a long way.

From what i have seen, there is no software capeable of being live interaction like that, you have two choices...watch video's, i.e. watch and get instruction on a general level from hypotheticals.

OR trial and error, i.e. just PLAY and grind out hundreds of hours and learn through playing..

those are your best choices...

You also might consider taking the money you would have spent on a simulator, and buying a poker book instead. I'm not knocking your idea, but I find that a poker book I can reference at any time wins over a program I can only access around a computer. It will also show you how one play might be correct in one situation, but incorrect in another.

I really don't know what your library looks like, but if you don't have them I would recommend "No Limit Hold'em Theory and Practice" and "Texas Hold'em Odds and Probabilities". This is of course if you are looking with Hold'em being your main game. I really don't have too many books on the other forms of poker as of yet (although I have both Super Systems which cover various games.)

Hope you find what you're looking for, or something that will help.

if you want something to tell you if your making a wrong move etc you could try getting someone you know who is alot better than you at poker to watch you play and help you that way
