BNS, on my Vegas trip last summer I went into almost every strip casino and never saw 3:2 blackjack. Downtown may be a different story, but plan on playing a lot of 6:5. |

| There is some 3-2 blackjack, downtown. I played too much 6-5 blackjack last summer. I didn't really know what I was doing. This time, though, it's 3-2 blackjack, single 0 roulette and full pay VP machines only. I was thinking about staying on the strip, but I might actually stay downtown and save some money, which then I'll use to gamble it up. The Plaza looks decent enough. Downtown isn't so bad. I plan on spending around 2/3 of my time playing poker, and the other 1/3 playing BJ and VP. So I'll gamble in the daytime, downtown, then head to the strip for poker at night. |

Please, never EVER play 6:5 blackjack--it's a ripoff game! The house advantage on a regular single deck game paying 3:2 is 0.18%, while the house advantage on the very same game paying 6:5 is 1.45%--that is more than 8 times the advantage!
From Las Vegas Weekly:
The math is easy. If the player gets paid 3/2 on a blackjack on a $10 bet, the player gets paid $15. If the player gets paid 6/5 on a $10 bet, he gets paid only $12 for a blackjack. That is a difference of $3, which might not seem like much. During a normal-speed blackjack game, the player averages five blackjacks per hour, meaning the player is shorted 1.5 bets per hour. In the case of a $10 bettor, he is being shorted $15 per hour! |

Great thread, I don't know why I don't come around to this forum more often!
I'll be in Vegas this week...I'm getting married to my long time fiance at the Luxor on Friday. Gettin in on Wednesday and taking the red-eye back to the east coast late Sunday nite.
Anyway, I'm wond'rin if any of you guys could give me a few tips. I've been to Vegas once before, but was only in town for about 22 hours. I played poker at the Trop and Excalibur. I dug both rooms, but had more success playing against some of the locals at the Excalibur @ $2-4 Limit HE (yeah, I'm cheap). I'll give a rundown of my style of play and preferences, etc and maybe one of you can recommend a place for me.
In cash games, I prefer limit. I don't usually go higher than $3-6. I am a low-key kind of guy, and don't really care for a whole lot of glitz (one of the reasons why I liked the Excalibur). I know room dynamics change depending on the time of day, but I prefer rooms that draw few loud-mouths, as far as cash games are concerned.
Tournaments; I may or may not enter in a tournement, but I'd prefer a buy-in around $100 or less, No-Limit HE. I'm a little more tolerant of loudmouth players in tournament play. No rebuys.
My trip isn't revolving on poker (obviously) but I would like to get into a few different poker rooms. I'm just hoping I can parlay my newly-wed mojo into some success on the felt. If you guys can make any recommendations, I'd appreciate it.

| I enjoyed the buffet at the Rio (the fried chicken was great). And Burger Palace at the Imperial Palace is good, and cheap. |

Despite several warnings I went ahead and tried the breakfast buffet. They can't even get toast right. Besides the Burger Palace, stay away from all food here. I'd still recommend this hotel, though. It's in a good location, and you can stay here for as little as $44-50 on weekdays. |

just wondering is there any regular PLO games in vegas frm1/2 to 5/10? and many mixed games with razz and stud8? also wats the rake and must u pay 2 enter the poker rooms?

There might be a 5/10 PLO game at Bellagio or Wynn. TI gets a 3/6 mixed game going from time to time and you can ask that razz and Stud8 are thrown in. Harrah's also spreads HORSE (either 3/6 or 4/8) a few days a week.
Check out allvegaspoker.com. They keep a pretty up to date list of what games are spread at each location as well as the stakes. |

| Sahara great little tourneys and cheap place, plus $6.99 dinner buffet with players card, great to stay at if your looking for cheap rooms and plan on being in vegas for a while, say a week or longer. |
