|
|
I was sitting at a play money 7 card stud Hi/lo table with 8 players including myself. Then something dawned on me, or im just mathematically challanged.
There are 52 cards in a deck?
There are 8 players at the table?
Assuming that all 8 players play their hand till the river,
8 players times 7 cards each....
8 x 7 = 56 ? I think.......
52 cards in a deck?
What am i missing here?

| It's very rare that all 8 people are still in until 7th street. If for some reason it does happen, instead of dealing each person a 7th card, 7th street becomes a community card. |

| The wikipedia says that there are burn cards in stud. However, I'm not sure if online games use burn cards at all (there's no way to tell). |

Even with burn cards, it will just use every card in the deck.
6x8 = 48
add 3 burn cards (one after 3rd, 4th, and 5th street)
then no burn card after 6th since it is the final card in the deck....if it comes to that. |

| It depends where you play if the will burn cards or not. It is rare but it does happen, but all the cards will get used and whatever is left become community cards. (yes, it does happen in real life with real money.) |

| Yes, when dealing seven card stud there is a burn card after 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th street. This is to prevent cheating and marking cards. The same as in hold'em. |

| Burn cards are dealt before every street including the river in live stud games, but not online. |
