I play from home and when able to connect to a wi-fi spot. Usually at about 54.0 Mbps runs fairly sooth. Have played with lower but have had some lag problems when it gets lower.

I play at home through a wireless router and play in several different rooms in my house. I don't have the highest of speeds when it comes to transfer rate, and I can play just fine. My signal is broadband. I also play while I'm on the road for business travel and use my hotel's WiFi and haven't had any problems except the very rare lag.

The connection to my wireless provider sucks so I generally play FTP with a dial-up connection. Since THAT works, except I can rarely hit the button to show my hand fast enough before it's going to be too late, I wouldn't worry too much about your wireless connection.

Cheers!

Just to add my two cents, I took my laptop out of town last weekend to my parents' house. They have a wireless router set up there. I was able to play without any problems at all.

Hi Fisher,

I don't have any issues with my 54 Mbit/s at all.
have you tried changing the channel of your wireless?

cheers

Mine cuts in and out sometimes, you should try changing channel as bigpairde because the speed itself doesn't affect the signal strength at all.

I had been playing on dial-up at home. Worked ok. When on the road, I'd been playing on hotel wireless service ...worked so/so. Sometimes great, sometimes terrible.

Recently replaced at home my dial-up with verizon DSL (3Mbps/768 Kbps) and it works great. And I'm wireless now. No problems at all.

I've only been "off" dial-up for just over a year now. I live in the boonies, albeit one of the most beautiful places in the world and a private company finally brought in wireless internet - it just does not work reliably:) One time I saw the KsJs9s flop for my AsQs in the first hand of a tourney and my connection dropped out before I could bet and pray for the 10 Shocked I got back in time to see pocket J's for another hand and it dropped again, hehe.

Yesterday I was quite happy to spend a few hours lounging in the dealer's waiting room waiting for my car to be serviced . They have a good wireless connection there for customers to use and I brought along my MacBook Pro. Guess what I was doing? Smile The young service rep came over to tell me how they figured my van needed $6K worth of parts (BS, I think) and I continued to play at a low stakes cash game while he spoke. I told him that I'd won $2 in a hand while he was speaking and I'd just sit there and earn the rest Cool

Cheers!

Glen
