I know there are many different threads about Atlantic City, but I have been searching through and really having a tough time digesting the information.
I am making a trip over in a few weeks, and am looking for a good place to play. I will mainly be interested in low NL holdem, 7 Stud, and perhaps Stud 8 and Omaha Hi Lo. Low fixed limit holdem isn't out of the question, I would just prefer to have the NL option. If anyone has any feedback, please let me know. I will most likely not be interested in any tournaments or sit n gos...just ring games.

I don't know much about which casionos have what games, as I haven't played anything else in AC yet except $1/2 NLH(gimme a break I only turned 21 a few months ago!), so I probably won't be much help. But anyway, my personal favorites are Borgata and Harrah's. Borgata is one of the few(perhaps the only, though I think Taj might too) whose max buy in for 1/2 NL is $300 as opposed to the usual $200. Pretty big room, and they are supposed to be building a new one besides. Harrah's seems to be newbie-land as far as I've been able to tell. Only downside there is the room is kinda small. I've only been to Tropicana once, but I like it so far.

Again probably not a huge help, but I've shared what I've got!

Thanks a lot man...that would probably be the limits I would be looking for in terms of NLH.

And to follow up, I just got back from AC Monday. On weekdays especially, the real action was at the Taj and the Borgata. Every other poker room had maybe 4 games going, all of them pretty low stakes. Ballys was pretty busy, too, and great if your a smoker or a fireman, otherwise take a gas mask. It was packed on Saturday night....at least I think those were people I saw through the haze.

I loved the vibe at the Taj, and you can find about any type of game, but I will say it has the worst drinks, especially if your a beer drinker. The Taj definitely had the most tables going on a daily basis.

The Borgata was better in the drink respect (plus them Borgata Babes...yowie), and offers a poker room rate you can work on if your staying there now or in the future. Side note: I made the mistake of buying a bud lite while waiting for a table at the Borgata.....$9!

I really enjoyed the new room at the Showboat. Everyone was pretty friendly and the drinks were great (hienies and corona ice cold in bottles!), although only one waiter per side in the room so it sometimes took a while. Showboat also offers nice low limit tourneys three times daily. Generally not many tables going yet though, max game was 3/6HE

I didn't like the Sands. Went there cause they offer a $150 max buy in $1/2NLHE game, but we weren't able to get a table going, even with 6 of us on a Saturday night. Not helpful at all there.

I didn't play at Caesaers, just checked it out, but their new poker room is big and classy looking. It was busy on Saturday night, but according to to a dealer volume was way down because of the impending snow storm they were getting.

Thanks a lot Sly..very helpful. I will most likely be going during the week (I think a monday and tuesday) so hopefully I will be able to find a good table. I had some others tell me that the Borgata was the place to go, so that's probably where I will be headed first.
