Not really you played it well maybe a check raise on the river but your taking a chance on losing an extra bet but I think your play was good nice hand.

I don't really know what the min raise before the flop was. Doesn't really make much sense. I think you could have made a little more money by check-raising more on the flop, and betting more than 80 on the turn and river. But I'm only talking a few hundred more. When the blinds are at 20/40 1080 is a nice pot.

Of course, you can take a chance and overbet the pot. You probably won't get called very often, but you might.

BNS, this is limit man.

It would help to know what he had, but of course, you didn't know this during the hand. I probably would have done the same thing as you did here.

i was guessing a 9 or a pocket pair, and also i guessed that when a trip hit's the board, most people rarely consider the other person having the fourth hence the bet on the turn and the river.

Even playing A-8 offsuit,much less raising,is bizarre.

Raise preflop was bad--just lucky it worked. In the future its just more VP$IP that doesn't pan out because of kicker problems compounding your position deficit.

I would have bet out flop, and as you see you would have got a lot of callers, maybe even the 9 would raise (or the flush draw) and if the raise happens you have to decide on the smooth call or 3 betting. Impossible to make that judgment call since you provided no betting history of your opponents.

When the 8 hits the turn, your check raise is likely to work if you played the flop the preceding way trapping more people in with more money in the pot.
Bet out on the river, you won't get two check raises in unless this is a play money tourney--in which case all this advice is going to waste Wink

On the flop and beyond, your play was fine - nothing wrong with betting the whole way here. Preflop, you shouldn't be in the hand, let alone raising. That raise is very -EV, and that hand can get you in a lot of trouble should you hit. Don't play crappy hands!

5 people behind you and you raise pre-flop with A8o? That isn't even a marginal hand, let alone a pre-flop raise hand.
