How much more thinning of the field are you going for? There are only 2 other callers at this point.

Pot limit I don't like raising out of the blinds much at all for this specific reason. If I do, it's only a small raise like you did.

I'm raising this from UTG-OTB for value 95% of the time(the other 5% I'm raising to isolate, but those are unique situations for another time). I'm calling any raise from any position as well. Occasionally I'm reraising, but again that falls under the unique isolation circumstance.

As played, I'm betting this flop, not turn. The value of your hand is as irrelevent on the turn as it is on the flop and the only thing likely calling/raising behind you here is a J or over pair. Your opponents ranges will be defined immediately.

As an example, if I'm holding AJXX or KJXX here, I'm checking right behind if you check. No matter what card hits next I'm potting almost everytime. With the 3 falling I'm even more excited to see you lead out because I can either smooth call/VB or pot river, small reraise/VB or pot river, pot it/VB or pot river. I have a good idea where you stand, yet you have a much lesser idea of where I stand.

If you lead out, I have to define my hand a little quicker and you're less likely to get further attached to the hand, which will save you bets.

audsb, this being omaha/8... you're thinning all the way to heads-up or a pot-steal... sometimes you want a crack @ the nut low yourself.
limit or pot-limit, 3-handed is reeeal spooky if you're primarily going low.

At least I've been on the right path... i just never had it fully rationalized.
My philosophy has somewhat evolved for PLO/8.
Seems to be the best game for securing bonus$ and ftp's.
And as an added plus... if i don't get too stupid, a little profit as well.
