| Yeah, tough break mzbuns. I finished 2nd for the third time. I guess my HU game needs some work. But got all the chips in with A8 vs. KJ and he hit a J, what can you do? I win that hand, I have an over 2:1 chip lead. 2nd is still nice I guess, but I'm sick of being a bridesmaid!!! And I've never even heard of this bryn2 character who won!!! Good game bryn, some interesting calls and nice suckouts, but you played aggressive with the big stack, that's good poker. Till next week everyone! |

That truly sucked tonight.
I don't see a flop until about the 60th hand. Til that point my best hand was 33 which I folded to a raise as I was below the starting stack.. Despite that, I rebuild to about 1800 when I get dealt QQ early. I raise to $400 and get pushed by the BB. He has AK and I lose the race.
Doesn't anyone know how to take a flop in this game? I get one hand and lose my race and my week is over. Oh well.
Great job Phoenix. |

Thanks craig, but unlike you, I was very fortunate. Got dealt some great starting hands, QQ, KK, or AA maybe a total of 6 or 7 times throughout the tournament.
But I had one or two over the past few weeks where I just couldn't get it going because I was card dead...very frustrating! And even more so, when people just raise, raise, raise. That said, I don't think re-raising with AK is such a bad play...it's a great showdown hand. If the guy's shove was a massive overbet, ok, maybe that's bad...but if not, I think he played it well. AK is great for raising and re-raising, it's really a fold equity type hand in my opinion. And if you do get called, you usually want to see all 5 cards...it's not a race against an underpair when you only get to see a flop.
But sorry to hear about your bad run. You're a strong player, once you get some cards, you'll turn it around. You're still doing well overall. See you next week! |

i played badddddd...... it's just everyone was so tight so rather than play my useal conservative game i raised alot more and 2.5bb rather than 3bb, cos few were coming back at me. thanks for defending me though. i sense i'm probally gunna get slated for this proformance. that A9 hand was just plain bad. i dunno about takin that 2.1 with that draw when i needed 3.1. i felt i should take a shot however i'd raised such a poor hand i didn't have an overcard or anything to go with my hand.
i dunno if i should have restole with that JK obvoiusly i had to do something with it, probally should have taken a flop. i was generally reraising tight though the times i reraised you apart from that time i had A9 or better. i folded KQ to your all ins over my raises a couple of times as well. generally i ask people to not judge me on that bad proformance. |

The real shockers were calling all-ins with 82 and 74. You might want to explain those ones before explaining calls with an A |

i had 2/1 with the 82 that was actually a correct albeit embrassing call. unless he has a pair higher than 77 and as he shoved A6 we can assume his range is wider than that.
the 74 was the hand i took the wrong odds on my open ender. i have alreadly explained this. i'll play whatever trash i want preflop in unopened pots. well when everyone is that tight. for example he didn't reraise A10 from the bb, when my raising requirements from the sb were clearly not that high.
although i have nothing like her post flop skills. annette plays atc on the button pretty much, so shrug. i don't think raising with junk is nessicaryly bad although some do. i'm generally not a bad player (sharkscope me)
i guess alot of people were playin for points though. i just sensed major weakness and so raised alot. i've just started this week so needed to get going quick on the points. |

I was doing pretty well.. Then had KK and ran into AA
Better than the usual suckout elimination in this MBJ series, though. |

It's been a fun season so far. GL to all the rest of the way.
Couple things:
First of all, it should be said once again that Pete does a great job with the leaderboard. We all appreciate your time.
Also, are we considering not counting the next two weeks due to the holidays? I know last year Xmas Eve and New Years Eve both fell on sundays, so we did not count those two weeks. But this year both Eves fall on Mondays. I have no problem personally either way, i'm just throwing it out there. Not sure if participation will decrease during this time of year. |

You guys were doing pretty well at one point? Wow, I wonder what that's like.
I probably won't make the next 2 or 3, as I'm home for the holidays and that means dialup, which I don't trust enough to play much poker on, especially in early evening hours, so I'm likely waiting until I'm back at school in January to rejoin the game and take some more beatings. Just in case anyone cared. |

So when do we get the official word about whether Sunday the 23rd and Sunday the 30th will count or not? I am fine either way. But might not play and instead watch hockey if it's not going to count in the standings
Thanks Pete for organizing this and thanks everybody else for some great poker. I play quite a bit at low stakes SnGs and with friends, but have yearned to play against people that actually have a clue what they're doing and this MBJ series definitely has that element! |

So will tonight's tourney count toward the overall standings? I am debating whether I should head to my parents' place for Christmas tonight or tomorrow. If the tourney isn't counting for the standings, I might head up tonight. If it is, I'll play tonight and go tomorrow morning. Can someone let me (us) know one way or the other? Much appreciated!
