always wear a blue shirt
keep a lucky coin in your left pocket
your card protector should have deep meaning to you
tap your right foot 3 times as the flop comes down |

| Is this a joke? Start reading every post on the forum if it is, or we can recommend some great books if you'd like. But yea, you really need to know your "maths". |

You need to know some basic math, no way around it.
You need to use the math to correctly apply good strategy. You can learn good basic strategy in Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones.
Certainly could be, but I suspect it is a kid who really doesn't know. |

| Jaconda78, Do you think you could send me that Small Stakes Holdem Spreadsheet you made? I emailed you a few weeks ago but never got a reply. My email is maguire23@aim.com. Thanks. |

| So does this mean you didn't like any of my "tricks" that will help you win?? Hell, I've found them all quite effective, personally... |

| You dont HAVE to know your "maths" to be a winning player. But you will never win as much as you could unless you learn how to calculate odds. I for one feel that experience and learning how to play correctly is more important than dealing with the numbers. It sounds like you are a beginner, so get some books on holdem, read the posts in the forums, and get some table experience. If you still play fake money, play the SNGs. Much better players in the SNGs. |

I kinda like the blue shirt, although I usually wear white. And as for the lucky coin, it should be your card protector, not stuffed in your pocket! (Of course my lucky coin is a Liberty silver dollar so it works well as a card protector. I suppose if you have a lucky penny you really should keep it off the table.) |

My card protector is actually a 1.5" tall little buddha. He looks high as a kite and has a gigantic smile. It reminds me to have fun and relax.
I always wear adidas hooded sweatshirts. I have a bunch of them now that I rotate through when go to tournaments around the twin cities here. |

| My buddy back home has a card protector which is a little steel action figure - he calls it "Pocket Pair Paul" - of course, it may only be lucky for him... |

My card guard is a small pig, carved out of connemaragh (sp) marble.
The pig, and the marble are from Ireland. He is naturally green in color |

| True. The more I play, the more I realize the benefit of experience-bred wisdom. |

Experience is great, but since you can't get that instantly, do the reading. Experience is invaluable for telling you when to deviate from the strategies in the books, and for finding your own style. Books are a great place to start. Know your maths - it helps. |
