| In my opinion... limit Razz is pure luck. If you don't have the cards... you cant really bluff anyone cuz most of the time someone else will always keep playing their hand until the end. So if you dont have the cards... U don't usually win... am I right? If not don't get mad at me just tell me the strategy to it cuz it doesnt make sense to me... thank you! |

| Every limit game is exactly that a limit game. Limiting your bets, limiting your skilld, limiting your chance to win with your skills. Bluffing is possible, but not probable. This is why "grinders" play mainly limit games. |

| from what im learnin about razz is that its a longterm game. Its all about maximizing as much as you can when your running hot and getting cards and just grindin out when your not....much like all forms of poker. the betting limits dont mean you cant bluff....but remember you cant bluff idiots....so when you play the low stakes you should just keep your bluffs to a minimum. the skills gonna come in on really how lil money you lose. when you have to cards your gonna bet...get called....and win.....you have to train your self to let go of anything thats not gonna win on the early streets. your opponants will let 1 or 2 more bets go on hands they should have folded on 3rd street. over the long run you will make alot more money than your opponants for losing alot less. |

I used to think so. Now I think it's donk city. I was in a game and these two guys were raising and reraising each other in a betting frinzy. I had an AJ in the pocket and a 2 on top. I called and they both did there raise reraise thing. I could see from there showing card that I might be ok to follow. next card I got a 3. They went through there raise reraising thing. I just called. my next card was a 4 and we whet through all the raising thing again. I just called and smiled. 6th street was a 5. I now had A,2,3,4,5 and the 2,3,4,5 was showing. 7th street was a 6. I ended up with a $5800 pot and my hand was showing for all to see. Why would anyone keep raising when they can see there beat? DONK CITY lol.
PS I guess the moral of the story is. Feed off of these donks. Thats the skill. |

| Its always hard to bluff in anytype of Limit game ... not impossible, just hard. This especially so in RAZZ where suits have no meaning and pairs weaken you hand even more against your opponent. The best strategy that I've found to use is if my first 3 cards dealt two of them being higher than 8, I fold out ... as you only have room for error in two cards and you've just been dealt a dead hand. Yes you can win with high cards or even pairs ... but the odds are against you. |

Something like that happened to me a couple days ago. These two guys were really going at each other, serious tilt. I was dealt A35 hit a 4 and 6 on the board, while they both have high cards showing and are maxing each betting round, cussing each other out. I just call, call call. Finally one was all in, the other raised him anyway, I reraised and there was a long pause. They were so angry at each other, it was like they forgot I was there. |

| Razz is just a different skill game. Like any game bluffing only works on people who dont always call. If you opponent is the bring in bet and has a K showing and you have a low card showing you can try bluffing. Just like other things you have to represent something you cant bluff some one off there hand when you have trips showing. |

To some extent, Razz is actually less about luck than other poker games.
Putting your opponent on a hand is generally easier in Razz, figuring out how many outs you have is generally easier in Razz, and you very often know that you have the nuts. Of course, things can change with every card, and you will very often have the nuts on 6th street and lose to an opponent who outdraws you on the river.
But the biggest way to be a big poker loser (a fish) is not by getting bad cards, it's by making bad decisions. With a little discipline, training, and study, Razz offers you a great opportunity to consistently make good decisions.
If the hands that you lose on the river and the wheel draws that you miss are costing you enough money that you're bemoaning your luck, you're probably playing above your bankroll. As for tourneys, yes, you can bust out of a Razz tourney due to the luck of the draw -- but isn't that true of just about any poker variant?
I busted out of a Razz tourney once when my 6-4-3-2-A lost to an opponent who made a wheel. And I've busted out of NLHE tourneys when I got all in preflop with A-A and had my Aces cracked. Anybody who goes into a tourney expecting to win without getting lucky is just deluding themselves. |

I take it that you didn't intentionally use a FTP link when you said "p0ker" JB? If FTP is inserting these linkys, then they can link the following sentiment to Kraft foods:

I've bluffed plenty in razz.
Say you have K-Q in the hole and you have 2-3-A showing. It looks like you've gotta good razz hand, even though you're only drawing to a King low, and you bet out and you're opponent thinks he's beat.
You should try bluffing in razz when you know your opponent(s) missed or isn't drawing to a good low. |
