| What games are people making the most money on? I see guys making tons playing just limit hold 'em, and this is intriguing to me because the go-broke factor in nl is too risky for me right now. Is it feesible to think that there are people making a good living playing in online limit games? |

Oh I know that first-hand, that's why I'm wondering if there is a noticable difference in game types that pros are playing. I know variety is a good recipe to defeat boredom and learn different styles, but if I wanted to focus full-time on a certain game what would the percentages say? In all likelihood there is no answer to this question, hence the "this probably sounds stupid but..." subject title |

| I don't know about percentages, but it is certainly possible to make good money playing limit online. While my own experience is over a very short term (4 months), I have made over $1000 per month playing 2/4 and 3/6 limit games on partypoker. The swings are smaller, but it is still quite possible to lose a lot, so be careful. It is a different game, and the swings are smaller, but the overall trend can still be distinctly positive or distinctly negative. |

How?
I have been playing online for @ 2 hours a day, every day for a year now. 8 months of that focused on limit, so I cant go all in and go broke. I have read Brunsons'supersystems2 (twice), Helmuth's how to play like a pro (twice),Sklansky's hold em poker for advanced players (three times) and am now reading Phil Gordon's little green book. My game has improved, but I am still losing money, just at a much slower pace.
I can not build and maintain a bankroll.
Im really getting frustrated. I dont need to be a pro. I'd just like to win more than lose for a while, and or have my good runs be longer or outnumber my bad runs, so that I can build and maintain a bankroll. |

| I just play solid poker. Work the odds, don't play scared, etc. It IS possible. However, at the time when I was earning the most, I would be playing 4 tables at once, 50+ hours a week. It was extremely time consuming. However, at a higher limit, it is certainly possible to earn more. |

Good books all, but aimed at tighter, more predictable, games. Try Miller et al's low limit holdem book, Small Stakes Holdem... It is targeted at the lower limit games. |

Tight-aggressive, my good man. Drop the hand when you don't hit a flop and don't chase. |

Agreed.
Like Daniel Negreanu says, fit or fold. If the flop doesn't fit your hand, fold.
Play good hands, and only chase when you're getting good odds. |
