I know a lot of people either check or bet pot in PLO. Isn't it good to mix up your bets and sometimes bet 1/2, 2/3, or 3/4? Sometimes I want to get action when the board isn't draw heavy, so I'll bet something like 2/3 or 3/4 instead of full pot, or I'll value bet the river for about 1/2 pot if I think someone might fold to a bigger bet.
Ok, maybe I gave this thread the wrong title since I'm fairly sure you need to mix up the bets. I actually want to know how much you'll bet in different situations. The are so many factors to take into account: possible draws, number of opponents, play styles of the opponents, etc. |

I usually bet depending on my opponents stacks and what i think i can get out of them when i have a good hand. I was playing in a tournament, my opponent in the hand had about 130,000 chips left, i had the stone cold nuts. there was about 70000 in the pot, he wasnt showing much strength so i didnt think hed call a pot bet, i bet 25000 and he called, i think i got the most chips that i could have, but sometimes i get greedy and bet the pot, which i should change.
If im bluffing, it depends on the player and my image, some people will actually fold to a half pot bet rather than a pot bet, because it looks like a value bet.
If I have a marginal hand ill want to see what my opponent does first, and if i think theyre weak ill try and steal it. Its worked for me. |
