| Though I've been there before, I will actually write a full review of the Trop after I return the last weekend of October. |

a few tasty tidbits:[cuz i always take the tour bus from scranton]
>don't buy cigs in the casino-- they're 3-4 bucks a pack cheaper at the 7-11
or am/pm mini mart, both 2 blocks from the main drag
>the buffets i've seen there kinda suck, but Applebee's and Johnny Rockets'
are nearby |

| If you are looking for a very nice meal (both kinda pricey), try The Steakhouse at Harrahs or Prime Place at Ballys. The Sunday brunch at Prime Place is definitely worth trying as well. |

| i have one review on poker......"The Hilton" is a great place to play cash games.....i say this because the ppl that play there are such total fish and its a ez game to make money on ......any of the games from 1/2NL - 2/5NL and all the limit games....plus the bathroom is very close and accessible........"The Borgata" is also generally flooded with a bunch of idiot college kids spending daddy's money and playing poker like they see on TV so that's another good 1......best of luck |

The Tropicana:
I can't give how much it is to stay there, since I stayed there for free, but I can tell you a few things about the hotel/casino:
- Rooms are pretty nice. Nothing fancy, but definitely well-kept.
- The casino itself is large, well decorated, and well-run. The cocktail waitresses come around often, so if you want a drink, you won't go thirsty for longer than 10 minutes.
- High variety of shops that exist between the hotel and the casino, However, the shops are a bit pricey, but then again, most shops inside any casino are just that.
- The poker room, which you will often find full during peak hours, spreads many 1/2 NLHE games, a few 2/4 FLHE games, and one 7 card stud game (I never found out what the stakes were for them). Occasionally you will see an Omaha Hi/Low game spring up, but only during peak hours. One the whole, the players are pretty bad, so you shouldn't run into too much trouble money-wise. |

The Borgata: Hands down the biggest pokerroom in AC... Constantly running sit and goes... usually a short wait for cash games (once i waited 15 minutes but that was rare).... The only reason i don't go there as often is because i'm superstitious and i NEVER win there... just bad luck for me but a great place.... downside si that its far away from everythign else, so you can't just step outside and walk to another casino or to anywhere else.
Caesers: First casino I went to.... stopped going to try other places.... now i play here.... I play here because again, i'm superstitious and I have the best luck here but its not really THE BEST but its good..... tournaments suck... but they have one they call "the gladiator games" which again.... is $120 entry and you just get bad odds.... and no sit and goes here.... HOWEVER.... you know what they DO have? A bad beat jackpot which is constanly going up... once i saw it at $150,000 and then another time i saw it at $20,000.... people win it like once a week i think.... basically if you lose with Aces over Jacks or better you get 50% of the jackpot.... the guy that ebats you gets 25%.... and the rest of the table splits the remaining 25%.
Taj :.... yea yea yea.... taj taj taj.... for people that have only ever heard of AC and never been there, they probably think the tak is the best, cause of movie rounders and what not.... its not the best... it pretty good but i just NEVER seem to like the people that go there.... the tournament section is sperated off onto the other half of the poker rooma nd i never went over there.... but it seems like they got some good tournaments.
And thats it, i've never played anywhere else..... from what i udnerstand, borgata, taj, caesers and showboat are the major 4.... next time i go i'll check out showboat. |

| -The Borgata: the 1/2 NL tables play almost like .05/.10 on full tilt, the players arent all that great either, my guess is its the biggest poker room in AC so alot more people go there. Only thing i dont like is the chips are magnetic, so its a pain in the ass to shuffle. I've only played MAYBE 5 hours there. |

Hehe, I did notice that. The game, both days I was there, had a certain "ship that social security over b*tch" kinda feel to it. |

| I was watching The Nanny last night, and they were in AC. Looked half decent. I don't imagine I'll ever get there. If I gotta fly I might as well fly to Vegas. |

I stay at the Trop, and usually go once or twice a year to AC. I stay for free so I save about $300.00 for the room. Decent rooms, but no Bellagio. Trop has nightly tourney at 7:00 usually a good turn out (120 to 175), but it has a fast blind structure. 1/2 nl games are common, and most of the play is either soft or manical. Beware there is some local talent that I see every time I go, and they play pretty well, but will gamble enough to try to bust you. Last time I went I tried the Taj for a midnight tourney it was a $40 entry (I think), and had a sick blind structure (ridiculously fast). I haven't played at the Borgata, but I think the Trop is the best room from what I have seen. The trop buffet is not bad, not the best. Just try to go at an off time to beat the lines of blue haired old ladies |
