I first played at FTP back in the spring and bought in for $100. This was at the time my first introduction to online poker and I was a pretty new player. I quickly lost $50 then back up and finally cashed out with only $30 of my original money. Now I admit I made a lot of calls but had a lot of bad beats... no surprise in the basement games.
The kicker was when I saw 5 royal flushes within maybe 500 hands. Two of them at the same table within 15 hands of each other. At that time the running joke was also the AA vs KK, called the FTP Special.
So off I go to a different poker site and clean up, move up the levels, increase my bankroll everythign is great.
So I come back now to give FTP another try. After only 500 hands I have lost 4 buy-ins. (of course and AA vs KK, and then a few hands later in a hand I am not involved in there is AA KK QQ and 55)
But what really kills is this. In 500 hands I've had AA 7 times and KK 4 times. And I'm not even going to begin to mention the crazy stuff I've seen at the tables (if I get J8 again I will scream)
While all this certainly happens in Casinos, home games, and other online sites the FREQUENCY which certain things happen here seems a little uncanny.
500 hands is not a large sample size and I will keep collecting data, but has anyone else seen stuff like this happening a little too often at the cheap games? |

| I've only seen 4, maybe 5 royal flushes in the 18 months I've been playing here. And I can count on my fingers the times I've had KK and someone else had AA. Actually, I was just thinking about that the other day. I've been very fortunate when playing KK to not run into AA often. KK runs into AA about 4% of the time, so it's not unheard of to see it happen several times in one night. |

Yeah that's what I am saying. Last night I flop a boat to someone who flopped quads. This was the second time in about 900 hands that this has happened. Never mind the two other 4-of-a-kinds at the same table in the 80 hands I played last night.
I can count the times I have seen a Royal Flush AND quads on one hand in 20,000 hands at a different poker site. And yes I do know you can flip a coin 100 times and it comes up heads each time... but somewhere around 10 times you start to suspect the coin might be weighted.... after 25 times you are pretty darn sure even if you can't 'prove' it. |
