I'm all for the ethical treatment of animals, although PETA go's a little overboard, but people should come first. I guess the charity I suggested I'm a little biased for too ..... 8)

How did I not ever see this?!?! Ok, instead of reading through every page to see if any of my suggestions have been mentioned, I'll mention them and let you weed them out.

1. Muscular Dystrophy Association. You know, Jerry Lewis. Labor Day Telethon. I was a counselor at MDA summer camp when I was in high school and college and worked our local telethon so I'm kinda partial. MD is a terrible disease (there are actually 40 different diseases under the umbrella MD) that affects many children. Most boys with MD will not live past the age of 21. I've seen way too many children die from this horrible affliction. I would love to see a cure found soon.

2. American Cancer Society. My grandfather died from cancer. I just watched an 18 year old girl lose her father to cancer. I'm sure most of us have lost someone to cancer. I would love to see a cure for this disease as well.

3. Compassion International. This group provides food, education, clothing, and love to under-priviliged kids all over the world. I support a little girl in Columbia every month through Compassion International. It's an awesome organization and very trustworthy.

4. One. This is the organization that Bono (from U2) started. It was highlighted on the Idol Gives Back show. They seek to eliminate poverty around the world.

I support almost any charity but there is no way on earth I would suppport Bono's/U2s charity. How can you tell all your concert goers (captive audience) to donate to charity while you are charging them $60 a ticket so you can buy a new Malibu beach house for $16 million?

Sunday afternoon will be Monday morning in some timezones and thus might decrease the available participants.

I'm assuming that, once the WSOP started, this was put on hold. It's a great idea though, so we should keep bumping it. Especially now that the WSOP is just about done.

Rick, any idea on a start date for the series?

Would be cool if we could get a few pros to play a few events. I know they're very good about slumming it with the rest of us. (I'm sure this was probably discussed way back when in this thread--but it's been a while...)

Yes, I would still like to do this. Maybe once we finish the HU tournament and the forum challenge. I will start talking to some of the others around here about it, and try to get this going.
