Im new to razz and I know the basic rules but Im not to clear on the ranking of the hands. Does A 2 5 7 8 beat 2 3 4 5 6?
Any other info on razz would be much appriciated.
Thanks |

you are listing them backwards.
its 8,7,5,2,A vs 6,5,4,3,2.
6 low beats 8 low. |

Ignore him because he has nothing to do but flame people for no reason or ignore him because you are a donk?

| Say for example in my hand I hold A A 2 2 3 4 8. Would my pairs play to hold 3 2 2 A A? |

8,4,3,2,A would be your hand. once you run out of non repetitive cards then your pairs start to kick in. |

| Yes, your example would be 8432A. Bear in mind that a hand like AA432 would lose to even KQJ109, so if your best 5 card hand contains a pair on the end, check/fold it no matter what the odds are unless a bet is likely to make your opponent fold. |

This is a very confusing tournament I'm right in the middle of, and this thread has been the most help with me figuring out Razz but I'm still a tad confused. Yet somehow I keep winning hands...
So when is a pair a problem? I read that it is rare for someone to win with a pair, but I did win one hand(they had a bigger pair showing so I wasn't worried). I'm just confused on how they make your hand from the 7 cards you are dealt... Does it only play your 5 lowest regardless of pairs? Are the pairs only brought up if they are a part of your 5 lowest? I'm so confused |

I'm actually doing really well in this tournament. Through careful(read: reckless) bluffing and good reads I've actually put myself well in a good spot with more than twice the average chip stack. I'm learning fast as I play. I had only played a couple hands of Razz prior to this... |

| So your saying here that you can only use pairs as a last resort? |
