The problem here is that you're not getting 11:1, but somewhere between 5.5:1 and 4:1 depending on how often the 3rd player will overcall. Any kind of read might be helpful here. Does he seem like the kind of player that would try to bet you off a chop in this situation?

TT or worse (in this case) someone getting frisky with JT both have me leery of the straight possibilities. Add to that the flush on the turn and since you didn't re-suck the nut flush on the river, I think you have to lay down one pair that doesn't even play. At best, you're in a 3-way chop. At worst, you've got nothing.

Usually I call this without even thinking regardless of opponent. Maybe its a leak and I should analyze it.

However, with villain's 0.5 AF and the way it played I'd be pretty inclined to fold.

there is $42 in the pot at the river. You need to call $4 to win 1/3 of it, or $14, assuming a 3 way split. Your odds are 3.5 to 1, so you have to be at least about 25% sure of a three way split for this to be profitable.
The only argument for calling here is that the player may have bet the river hoping to get 1 of you to fold, so he could split the pot in half instead of into thirds (but i doubt it). He couldn't possibly think that both of you will fold, so it is likely he has it. There are many playable hands he could have here for a flush or a higher str8, and betting into two players like this to me indicates a 90% chance he has a better hand then the board, so i think you mathematically should fold here.

LOL, but i would probably call anyway. It's just tough to fold in these situations, especially in limit.

BTW, why didn't you cap it preflop???

Yeah, my experience has been that people bet air here pretty much 100% of the time, I don't remember when at least the person in position didn't bet this to get someone to drop. The great thing is to get into a multi-way capping war with the board showing broadway and seeing someone reluctantly fold

There are too many draws out there that can crack your AA. There is nothing wrong with folding here. But for one more bet, the call is tempting.

On another note, in a pretty big tournament the other day, the board is an ace high straight with no flush draw. The pot was already huge, 4 people to the river, I go all in with the A-high straight being everyone's hand... 2 of the 4 of us folded... wow

I know I'm new to the forum, and maybe i'm just blowing smoke here but he may have hit the straight on an earlier street, and the the board filled itself he just felt obligated to bet because he HAD a strong hand, It seems like this happens.

I confess, when I'm playing without much read I will bet some chop situations on the river just to see if the other guys are paying attention. It's scary how many times one folds.

If a guy calls and we chop, fine. If he calls and he has it, fine, it's almost always worth a shot.

In this hand, imo, there are just too many things out there that will bust your hand. I mean, basicly you have the board. I agree with your play staying in the hand up until then, but I think I'd fold here too. For my money, I think FourTeller is packing a flush and was forced to bet when Kick checked, for value.

Of course, since there's a thread about it, my guess is you folded and these two chopped! Very Happy

It seems to me that he knows he played the hand like a draw and knows he wont get a check raise out of this...
