this was a limp pot all the way to the river? That seems unfathomable to me.

Why is it unfathomable? Each was trying to trap the other.

Yeah, that's what happened. We were trapping each other with 2 very strong heads-up hands, and I happened to get lucky.

You should have been trying to take down every pot anyways. If he had not had something, you wouldn't have made anything, so i would have just been betting like a fool either way.

He had to have something to call your river bet, so why get to the river and say, HEY, ONLY CALL MY ALL IN IF YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO BEAT ME (though i know you couldn't get beat with the nuts,) had he had something weak, you would have made nothing.

And if he's trying to slow play, he's going to call all your bets anyways,...but hey...i guess all the money got in the pot in the end.

The money would have been in pre-flop.

I don't mind the limp with the blinds so low. It's a good trap if there is an aggressive player. The other guy not raising is kind of strange though.

I just tend to raise pre-flop with anything really good heads up. I think pocket jacks would be considered really good.

Obviously that's a monster HU, but he could have been setting him up by limping in to him and he didn't get him to raise. It's a good move rather than raising & your opponent folding. If your opponent can make top pair when you have an overpair you can often get them broke in these stakes.

I raise this hand all the time too but against the right opponent I will limp in & hopefully he will raise.
