Did anyone else freeze up about 5 minutes ago?
The lobby worked fine but all the tables seemed stuck.

They are usually pretty responsible about refunding your buy in, fairly quickly as well. |

Pasted from the Tournament Rules page...
Which of the following doesn't belong:
hand, odds, options, standard
Now fill in the blanks:
_____ doesn't belong because, unlike the other three, it's not a ________!
Put the two words together, no spaces, I'm not saying this anymore. I'm too nice...
No keywords. Sorry!

In the event of a server crash, the hands in progress at every table will be restored by rolling back these hands. Each player's chip count will be reset to the amount at the beginning of the hand.
Occasionally, due to technical difficulties, a tournament may be cancelled while in progress. If all remaining players are in the money at the time the tournament is suspended, and subsequently cancelled, the players will be ranked according to their chip count, and paid according to the payout schedule. Any players eliminated prior to the suspension will not be affected as their prizes will already have been awarded. If a tournament has more players remaining than are to be paid out for the tournament, all players, including those already eliminated, shall receive a full refund of their buy-ins and fees. |

This is the email I received regarding last night's freeze out. Let's just say I am pretty unhappy with how this was handled since I sat there with the most chips when the site went down. I am also attaching my reply to FT. I would be interested in anyone else's comments.

Thank you for your email. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Our game servers are temporarily down pending emergency maintenance. We should be back up by 4 AM ET. For up to the minute information, please see our website system status page here:
http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/systemStatus.php
If you were seated at a table, the following will occur:
- If you were "in the money" in a tournament (or S&G), then the tournament will be paid out according to your chip position at the time of the disconnect. If you were the chip leader in the tournament at the time of the disconnect, you will win first place and be credited with the money.
- If you were not "in the money", everyone in the tournament (including those who busted early) will be refunded the full buyin for the event.
- If you were involved in a cash game hand, the hand will be rolled back, returning all money to those involved (including anyone who may have folded).
We certainly do apologize for the inconvenience, and are working on ways to improve our network service to be more redundant, secure and stable.
We appreciate your patience and patronage at Full Tilt Poker.

My reply:
Hello,
I know I replied to this message in a fury last night. I just wanted to add some additional comments now that my head is clearer. I think that the policy works well for sngs and cash games but needs serious adjusting for your multi-table tournaments.
The fields in your guaranteed tourneys have grown tremendously over the last couple of month, and I believe that your policy of refunding everyone their buy in no matter what if outside the money is no longer appropriate. It is simply wrong to refund the people who busted hours ago and penalize the players who have played themselves to the top 15-20% of the field.
In last night’s 8pm ET 9K guaranteed tourney, there were approximately 60 players out of appr. 450 left when the server crashed. That means that over 85% of the field had been eliminated over the span of over 2.5 hours. Most of us would have been in the money within a very short period of time. I in fact was sitting as the chipleader in the tourney and even on post and fold would have easily cruised into the top 20. We all got penalized terribly when the server crashed.
I am not asking for paying me out first price but I do ask for you to review and revise your policy according how your site has grown. Please look at other big sites’ policies such as Pokerstars who know how to deal with large fields. I think if a tourney has run for several hours and more than 75% of the field has been eliminated, there should be a better policy that annull the tourney.
Please reconsider.
