found myself in this situation in a tournament last night (which i won!).
yet i still have nagging issues:
found myself on the button and in the cutoff (1 right of the button)
w/ hand like AKxx, AQxx, KKxx, QQxx (mostly unsuited)
on several instances in 2- and 3- handed scenarios.
in all instances i open-raised pot, also in all instances i was the chip
leader or close to it...
my question is, if it isn't AAxx (naked or otherwise), even if i'm
willing 2 bail after the flop (or a pre-flop reraise), am i asking 2
get ****-slapped even if it's heads-up or 3- or 4- handed?

If it's that short, I'd raise a lot. This is especially true if they're folding a lot. Raise on the button, and raise when all the cards are fairly well connected. You could probably get away with raising when even 3 of the cards work well together in position when it's short handed.

Also, in position bet at it even if you had just hit a pair. Chances are very good that they've missed it pretty bad and you'll get a lot of pots handed to you in that way.

i've used methods similar to what u described in n/l, stud, and stud/8,
but sine i'm fairly new to PLO [ seriously for about a month now ]
i wasn't sure if the same tactics apllied...
as an aside, when it got down to heads-up, there was still about 8 mins.
until the next break. My opponent had been complaining for 5 minutes
previously about how badly he had to pee. Which led me to go agressive
and exploit this situation regardless of whether i was right or not.
again, thanx

Good job using "Pee-tilt" as a weapon. I'm gonna have to add that one to my arsenal if you don't mind.
