We are bringing back our Fantasy WSOP game this year. Last year, participants would pick players from a list of 200, and get points based on how well their players did in WSOP Events.

We will most likely keep the 200 names from last year, and add another 50 or 100 who have made a big splash since then, so throw out some names. Some obvious examples of people who weren't on last year's list: Jamie Gold, Paul Wasicka, Jeff Madsen, Bill Chen...

A couple of names maybe to throw on there would be Joe Pelton (2 WPT final tables within 3 tournaments, had a 1st and 3rd) and Shannon Elizabeth after her run at the national Heads-Up Tourney (not sure how much she will play, just an idea).

Thanks for bringing the fantasy WSOP back, it was enjoyable last year. One suggestion; if there are freerolls again like last year, could FT email the top 500 with a password for the freeroll? Last year, there were a lot of absent players who never showed up. Depending on your luck, you might start at a table where all 8 were absent, or at a table where only 3 were absent. Emailing the password would allow those who are playing, to sign up. I don't know if it's possible where you have a certain list of those who are elgible provide a password to prevent some from giving it to others, but just a suggestion.

Skeeter,

That's a great suggestion, and I think we will do something like that. Instead of throwing 500 people into a tournament, we will allow the top 1,000 or 2,000 to enter, but force them to go their "My Promotions" page and confirm that they want to enter. So the end result will be a few hundred players, most of which will show up.

Thank you for considering the idea. I like the idea of more people too, gives everyone a better chance, and the "My Promotions" is a great idea. Thank you Doug.

Doug, is there going to be an option on the My Promotions tab that instead of taking the freeroll we can choose bonus medals like in the case of the ironman promotions?

Sounds Sweet Doug! I loved last year's and this year should be just as good. Anything changing this year or will it pretty much be the same format as last year?

Yeah buddy!!!!! Thank you guys for doing this again this year,I'll have to search some of COMRADs' replies because last year I had a bunch of folks that I thought needed to be added to the list and posted them.I will look back at the OP to check the list, but off the top of my head I think I remember Mimi Tran wasn't even on the list.I think before we start adding a bunch of the newer folks like Cliff Josephy or Shannon Elizibeth we could get some of the veterans on there.

Gimme 2 days and I will post some names.

I wouldn't say Cliff Josephy is a "new player"...he would kick ass a lot of the big names on that list...and don't even get me started on people like Shannon Elizabeth or Evil or Very Mad Jennifer Tilly Evil or Very Mad
