Eight hands into the SnG, everyone limps in and I'm on the BB. The diamond on the turn certainly helped him. I don't think he would have laid this hand down after hitting top set and must have put me on two pair or worse.

Yeah, some hands you're just destined to lose.

Yeah, what he said...

The thing is, even if he knew that you had the straight, he still had pot odds to call you. You were only about a 3-2 favorite after the flop, and you couldn't price him out of drawing for the win.

that sucks. I would probably break something if that happened to me so early in an SNG.

Since we're on the subject one time I flopped the nut flush on the first hand of an SNG. I don't remeber the specific details but me and one other guy ended up all in after the flop. He had nothing AK or AQ with no pair on the board. The board was all low cards. He's drawing dead except for a possible straight flush on the board for a split and wouldn't you know it the turn and river come perfect and their is a straight flush on the board and it's a split pot. I was so mad but still managed to be civil and say nice catch though I may not have said it quite so politely. One of the other people at the table said hey you can't be mad with a split pot and he couldn't understand how i might be upset with what happened. Yeah I didn't lose money but come on. I went from doubling up on the first hand to staying even on a situation like that.
