I have a question about the $5 razz sng's. I usually profit at .25/.50 razz tables and ive dabbled in a few $1 razz sngs which i dominated but i have a fairly small roll and i was wondering how tough the $5 razz sngs are, for some reason i don't want to start doing them because im afraid that they are going to be full of sharks. I am a fairly good razz player and would like to know about the level of play at the $5 level. I have played a few $5 razz hu sngs and the level of play was about average i went 2 for 4 in them and didnt get a chance to play anymore. Thnx.

LOL. the $5 levels are not much better than the $1 levels at all, before you make this big jump, what's your bankroll?

Ok, thnx for the reply and my bankroll is at a healthy $47.50 lol leaving me with 9 buy ins, assuming they are as soft as the $1 or .25/.50 i think i am ready to make the BIG JUMP and play at the $5 level.

Play 1-2 $5.50 SNGs and see how you fair, if you don't think you can play these then move down to the $1's

Thnx for the advice i really hate playing the $1 sngs because of the 25% rake but i was thinking though that if i played every $1 razz sng that filled up i could probably make around $3 profit per 10 sngs, if this proves true i would continue to play these until i had around 20 buy ins for the $5 sngs ( i think thats the proper amount of buy ins for limit sngs ? )

I've played 2 $5 razz sngs and won them both, the level of play is nothing special. Every now and the you get one person who is pretty good and the rest are avg to below avg. There was still three people in the last one I played that didn't know how to play razz. It was the one with Chris Ferguson in it, so they just wanted to sit with the red name.

theyre easy dude dont worry about it. If youre decent you should profit in the longrun. Dont listen to anything goodtime says about bankroll management. 1-2 is idiotic for a 47$ bankroll. The only sharks you need to watch out for are me and any of my razz buddies Very Happy

I think goodtime was suggesting playing 1 or 2 $5 SNGs to "test the waters," and see if you think you can cut it. If you lose them both, even if you think you were the best player, you need to just continue grinding it out at the low stakes. Bankroll is everything. If you lose it, you are screwed. It's always better to be safe than sorry. I feel like I'm putting a lot of cliches in my posts. They're like, a dime a dozen. (The cliches, not my posts...ok maybe my posts)

the $5 razz sngs are very easy, for me it is almost impossible to get worse than 4th, but my problem is that most of the time, 4th is what i get... i actually do better in the $5 razz sngs than in the $1 ones but that's probably only because i play the $1 more loose and almost never concentrate when playing them Twisted Evil
