Up until today I've only played Stud Hi/Lo when playing HORSE Sit and Gos. Today I've played my first cash game ($0.25/$0.50) for an hourly profit of just a little over 8 BBs. Smile

However, I'm not quite sure how I should interpret the following stats. Out of 22 showdowns, I won 16 (72%). 10 of those were splits, whereas I scooped the pot 6 times. Does that sound about right? If not, what's a good split/scoop ratio to aim for? Unfortunately I haven't read SS2 yet, so I basically took Sklansky's chapter from SS on Hi/Lo Split and tried to apply it to Stud 8.

if you won 8bbs in an hour you are running on the hot side.

Thanks for the reply! So far I've been able to to get this or better results in every session (except for one case of hungover donking), with a record of 19.6BB/h ($9.78/h). I'm pretty strict in my starting hand requirements and instead of playing many hands, I try to only play quality ones and scoop larger pots.

Funny how I posted this only a few hours ago and then did just the opposite in today's session. After my first buyin was gone, I tried to avoid tilting and get my act together again, which helped me rewinning my first rebuy plus a little extra.

16 wins with 6 scoops in an hours seems pretty good to me. The scoops are, of course, what make the money. The splits just help to lower your variance. So, the question is, can you make more in your 6 scoops than you lose in the hands 6 hands where you don't even get half. Here is where properly timed aggression is important - call down when you can't fold, push hard when your likely favorite.

You need many more hours of play to figure this out.... but it looks like you're on the right track.
