These are the 20 charities that I am thinking of (maybe adding more), and I am hoping to start the series on Feb. 17th, or the week after. I am also asking for an ftops avatar for the overall winner, and prizes for the top 5 finishers. Let me know what you guys think.

Rick- I like the idea of something unique for the top overall winner... a little added incentive can never hurt, but how about an avatar that advertises/promotes the charity series, so to speak... see link below for a couple of ideas. I thought the ATM avatar was appropriate, but it can be anything (within reason), of course... maybe even make it winner's choice.

A couple of other ideas to attract players and keep people interested for the entire series:

- Give incentive for those out of the running for the Top 5 to continue playing every week by offering a bonus for players that enter every week... maybe a choice of FTP's or a special avatar.

- If prizes are offered to only the Top 5, offer a FTP freeroll for places 6 through x.

The hard part is that these are international charities. I don't want to favor any country over another.

Good job Rick! I like the idea of a large mixture of charities. I just figured whichever ones you picked were going to be good enough with all the input you got. I would think it would be terribly difficult to organize a tourney that spreads it thinner than this. Again great job and I look forward to playing.

My wife and I already volunteer for the Humane Society as foster parents and we donate money to several animal causes annually -- usually local ones. I think that is an issue that is best handled on a community level. I would prefer to see mostly (or completely) human causes on the list. Just my opinion.

Maybe we will add 5 more charities to the list, and make the series run a little longer. As for multiple avatars, I don't want to make the download file any larger than it already is. I do like the idea of having something for the winner's each week though (maybe freeroll at the end of the series, or ftp's each week for top players).

Thanks for the feedback, it only helps improve the series.

So is is for sure going to be on Saturdays. If so, I wont be able to play any of them probably. If there is enough interest, is it possible to get them moved to Sundays, maybe at about 17:00 or 18:00 server time. Maybe it is just me, but I think more people are available to play on Sundays than Saturdays...

I want to make it European friendly (so more people have a chance to play). How about 3PM ET (15:00)?

For a weekend that's great. Did you mention the game? I would really prefer a cycle of games (NL, limit, O8, Razz, Stud, Stud8, O,HORSE,Head's Up NL) rather than the same game all the time -- realizing that NL attracts a bigger crowd sometimes.
