**** all the ****head mother****er republican ****suckers telling us what we can and cannot do with OUR money, and if every dollar we own isn't recirculated into the US government they should kill us! The bill that passed this ruling was about PORT SECURITY with a ****ing little tidbit about Online Gambling...what ****heads that should be papercut on the nutsack and dipped in salt for 2000 consecutive days.
And guess what! It's perfectly fine to spend your entire paycheck on lottery tickets! Because the government wins!
that is all |

Ok, though I'm a Canuck, I signed up with the Poker All. in hopes that with enough voices, maybe things can be changed. I think the biggest concern, is the gov't is not getting a cut.
Maybe if poker sites offered a % to go to gambling addiction centres or something it might be enough to satisfy the do-gooders etc. Dunno, but I would really dislike having my freedoms erroded by a back-handed "Port Security Bill". Of course everyone supports port secuity...LOL.. but what's it got to do with poker??
All I can say is "UGH"! |

| It's not just the Republicans who are at fault here. In the Senate, any Senator could have stopped bill and/or forced a vote on it to put everyone on record. They could also have tried to strike that portion from the Conference Report because it wasn't in the original bill, but they didn't. I wish someone had had the balls to step up and take the position against this provision, despite the fact that the media would have eaten them up. They're all a bunch of sissies. |

1. Why can't we form a US- based online casino/poker/sportsbook and market it to the world? wouldn't that bring the US much needed cash?
2. The reason this bill/law passed without ANY chalange whatsoever is because it was shuch into the back of the Safe Port Act. And by challanging it would spell doom to the entire ace.
3. Why just stop at Online gambling, but still allow horse racing and lotteries? Ban it all, heck, even get rid of Wall St. trading (talk about CHANCE)
4. This bill will do NOTHING to curb terrorism
There's just no reason this piece of trash should even be in existance!

Just love the hatred of the lefties. Why didn't the defenders of freedom, you know the Democrats; not stop this? Oh yeah they voted for it also.
Last time I checked Democrats were just as busy, if not more so telling me what to do with my money. Oh you missed all of that.
Action, not signatures on virtual petitions will change this.

So you are saying that the lefties were gutless? I thought they stood for truth justice and American way, and stood up for their values and beliefs? Maybe they only have one. Getting elected.
Oh and it's not a bill, it was a rider, i.e. an amendment.

Maybe you should read the bill before making a jackass of yourself.
Oh and since you seem to have been born yesterday, this is typical of the way things like this get passed in the congress; no matter the party in charge.
I for one would be glad to see online casino style gambling die. It's online poker I care about. |

Mark, I noticed you didn't comment on my first point.

Yes!! This is precisely what I am saying! Ahh, our illustrious screwball politicians...you know, those creatures on the Hill over there, they have a way of making things worse!! [both R's & D's]Just look at all the ridiculous laws they pass.
As far as I recall, gambling has always been something the paulies have sought control over. Since they have been unsuccessful in doing so, they decided to sneak it into this Safe Port Act, which is supposed to be an 'anti-terrorism' bill. There is no relation between the two (gambling & terrorism)

Heads up! The funny thing about amendments nowadays...they tend to be enforced as law as if it was written as a bill in the first place..So, in the end, they both have the same effect.
Modern politics is all about money. Everything those politicians do is driven by their lust for money. Of course they will never ban anything that is a cash cow.
BTW, Just because somebody doesn't like something does noy mean it should be banned, what's the sense in that?! You know, you do have the right not to gamble in a casino.

I wrote letters commending the bill to several area politicians around the Chicago area. I gave them my opinion of how corrupt this business is.
I and several friends and relatives have gathered hand histories to put on cd. We have sent a few dozen of the most ridiculus ones.
I love poker. And I loved to play it conveiently in my home. But in this day and age, anything with this much money at stake is succeptible to corruption; and I think internet poker is the most blatant. |
