|
|
The declined neteller insta-cash transactions are due to the two founders of neteller being arrested in the U.S. for money laundering. A U.S. federal procecutors office charged them for creating an internet site facilitating the transfer of money to internet gaming sites, for U.S. citizens for the purpose of unlawful internet gambling.
This action took place because Bill Frist and certain congressmen, think playing poker is immoral.
From what I read so far, neteller has blocked Insta-cash transactions for fear that U.S. banks may not honor the transaction when it is presented. Neteller is expected to release a statement today, but has not yet.
From what I understand, the Insta-Cash ban is only temporary, and neteller is expected to announce that they are no longer going to serve U.S. customers, period. In fact, Bodog already has stopped doing business with Neteller altogether, starting today.
Neteller has stopped trading on the london stock exchange, for the time being.
This is just what I've learned so far. My sources are Cardplayer.com, Neteller press releases, Bodog.com, and other news sites online.
Check out these places for more info.
Update to my previous post-- This has all taken place now and neteller is no longer accepting U.S. customers for gaming transactions.

Sorry but you are wrong here.
I was informed by NETELLER 3 weeks ago that there will be no more Insta_cash deposit option.
It has nothing to do with those 2 guys getting arrested. |

According to the e-mail from BoDog they are still processing withdrawls via NetTeller.
"As you may already be aware, we are no longer able to process transactions from US NETeller accounts. We know that you have used this method recently to fund your account (XXXXXXX) and wanted to reassure you that payouts via NETeller can still be requested and will continue to be processed to your NETeller account at this time." |

NETELLER: No More InstaCash for U.S. Residents
Some Poker Sites Have Restricted All NETELLER Transactions, Not Just InstaCash
Some poker sites have limited or completely restricted NETELLER transactions following the detainment of two former NETELLER executives by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Since the incident, NETELLER has banned the use of its InstaCash feature for U.S. residents, but continues to allow users to fund sites with money that already resides in their NETELLER accounts.
Poker sites had mixed responses to NETELLER’s move. PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, for instance, followed the NETELLER ban exactly and now prevent users from funding their accounts using InstaCash. Bodog, on the other hand, took a more drastic stance and disallowed players from using NETELLER at all, even with funds currently in their NETELLER accounts.
Trading of the NETELLER stock was suspended following news that the two NETELLER co-founders, John Lefebvre and Steve Lawrence, were arrested while traveling in the U.S. The two founders have not had an official role in the company, aside from being the top shareholders, since before their detainment.

Been to Neteller...well aint this special!
US member update
Effective Immediately
Due to recent US legislative changes and events, effective immediately, US members are no longer able to transfer funds to or from any online gambling sites.
All US members will continue to be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet account to safely transfer funds to and from non-gambling merchants and are not required to close their account or withdraw their funds.

| I've read in most of the reports that they were arressted because of the sports bets placed through their company on football games and in a sting operation. Not because of funding online poker. No?? |

Yes, the ban on american financial institutions funding poker sites hasn't even taken effect yet. They weren't arrested for anything poker related. |

From the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/business/business-neteller-trading.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
NETeller is the latest victim in a U.S. crackdown on online gaming, which began with the arrest of BETonSPORTSchief executive David Carruthers in Texas last July.
NETeller's two founders, Canadians Stephen Lawrence, 46, and John Lefebvre, 55, have been charged with handling billions of dollars in illegal gambling proceeds.
Both face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
``The operations linked to U.S. gambling account for about 65 to 70 percent of sales,'' said a source close to the company.

So I have $X sitting at poker site blahblahblah.com. It got there via a Neteller deposit and the stellar poker playing that ensued.
Since I cannot withdraw that money via neteller anymore (d!cks), what are some other (currently) available options? |

FT says click2pay or epassporte.
I am sure its just a matter of time before the gestapo gets to them too.
Personally, I am leaving all my money at FT, and building it pot by pot, so I can leave my homeland of the USA and retire in a free country where I can do with my own money as I please. |
