I posted the idea of using a spreadsheet to view the MBJ Leaderboard in another thread... this is what I had in mind:

http://www.petedpoker.com/fulltiltpoker/mbj/mbj_nlhe_season4.html.

I like this format for a couple reasons:
a. You can view either the total point summary or a previous week's result with a click.
b. It's easy to read and color codes could be used to note the tourney winner (shown in yellow) and finishes "in the money", for example.

The format is also nice for the data entry person... the only thing that needs to be done is to sort the names of the players based on their finish in the tournament... the spreadsheet's formulas do the rest, thanks to the lookup function. Even the "number of weeks played" is automatically tallied.

I know this can use some aesthetic touch-ups, but any comments are welcome.

Thanks guys... we all appreciate the time KGBlovesOreos put into the leaderboard, but I was viewing it the other day and it's kinda hard to follow, at least from a standpoint of "where the numbers come from".

I also initiated the spreadsheet idea to make it easier for KGB... and easier for the forumers to follow. Well, I got a bit bored at work today and threw this together to give people an idea of what I was talking about.

KGB- If you want a copy of the spreadsheet, let me know. Or if you want me to get the Season 3 results into this format, I'd be willing to do that also.

Pete D, I was planning on converting all the data into a spreadsheet, for I knew that, within a few weeks, all the numbers would look like one big mess.

The only reason I have put off converting Season Three's data into a spreadsheet was because, well, I don't know how to do it. I was planning on learning eventually, because Excel is obviously one of the more popular programs out there, but I kept putting it off until later.

If you'd like, you can go ahead and convert all the data into that format (which looks great btw), then send it to me. However, once you do send that spreadsheet over, I'd appreciate if you helped me become acquainted with the program so that I could continue with my responsibilities for the rest of the season. After all, Rick compensated me for the work I promised him I'd do, and it wouldn't be fair to him if I started to dump the majority of the work off to somebody else.

Thanks for your help, and email me (whenever you're done) at KGBlovesOreos@yahoo.com.

I am going to send Gypsydc the results for MBJ Season 3. It will be in Excel, so just ask her for it (in a few hours).

Thanks Rick/Gypsy...

Wow, in Excel... even better. I'll have the results through Week 8 updated later tonight. And when KGB gets up to speed w/ Excel, he can take over.

I think it will look good and ignite some friendly competition.

Ok... the leaderboard is now up to date in spreadsheet format:

http://www.angelfire.com/retro/fodl/classic/MBJ_Season_3.html

The following corrections were made to the point totals:
MattieDaShark +2 (Bonus points for Week 1 were not included)
Tazzmetal -43 (Added by mistake)
Chillbot +54 (Week 1 & 3 results missing)
Mathman1115 +3 (Bonus points for Week 5 were not included)
DoubleDownA -1 (Error in the sum)
BottleCap Thief +20 (Error in the sum)
HIGHHAND TB -1 (Error in the sum)
CitizenCain +7 (Was listed twice, points now combined)

The following players were added:
NOLEMIKE93
PStar-06
PokerFreak666
mabEiwin <-- Has same point total as lesbianlvr, same person?

And eel son was changed to wheel son.

Also... I assume DJ Ninjah and NinjahDonatello are the same person. How about DaGambler_007 & gambler 7... same person?

We shouldn't see any more sumamtion errors since Excel is doing the work for us... the "Summary" sheet is based on the standings and point totals for each week's result. If you see something amiss, let me know.

That's awesome, Pete!

It would be nice if you could sort by columns (games played, average, etc..), but that's minor stuff. The way you did it, even including bonus points looks great.

I love this! Just an observation though, I thought weeks 5 and 6 didnt count towards the overall scores (Christmas eve, and New years eve)

They didn't, and aren't included (at least not in my numbers). We have had 8 weeks that *did* count.

Damn man, that looks a million times better than my leaderboard, hehe.

BTW, lesbianlvr and mabEiwin are the same person, as are Ninjah Donatello and DJ Ninjah. However, for the other one, I have no idea, so keep 'em separate for now.

Good work!

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I think it came out looking good also.

Dollar- You're correct, the tourney played on Christmas Eve & NYE was not included in the results. The dates of the tourneys are shown on the "Weekly Results" tabs (Week 1, Week 2, etc.). Week 6 was on 12/17, Week 7 was on 1/7.

Smokin- I agree, it would be nice to sort by column... unfortunately, I don't know how to program that.

Pete D, I'd appreciate it if you sent me an email showing/demonstrating how you put that leaderboard together. Thanks bud.
