Thats right folks, I've been sitting here riding out a cold streak that's lasted a year this next week. I've gone from a winning poker player to not being able to leave up a dime. The scarry thing is my showdown win percentage is alwasy above 50% That tells you a lot about what's been going on. I'm taking horrible beats. Hitting the would be nut straight on the river, only to find out the K of clubs is giving my opponent his flush. Or the 8 of diamonds that pairs the board giving me a flush is giving my opponent his full house, all while holding 8-3. It's just dismal. Leading out with Kings, being raised, re-raising, and then watching the guy move in on me with 2-2, and proceed to watch the flop (nothing) turn (nothing) river a deuce. I just cannont seem to find a way to get this thing to end. I get up for a moment at a table, then the **** hits the fan, it's literally like riding a roller coaster. I have no idea what to do.

I'm going to give the exact same response as I gave 5 min ago to a similar post:

Well for starters try moving down in limits. Also make sure that you're at your best when you sit down to play - well rested, not hungry, not stressed out, etc. Beyond that, just ride it out and don't let it tilt you. We all go through losing streaks, the key is to minimize your losses. Keeping control of your bankroll and your emotions is very important.

I'm only playing .10/.25 NL

One of the problems I see here is people fail to utilize mathemetics when determining the correct fold or call. Let me expand on this theory. We're playing .10/.25 NL a standard raise would be 1-1.25 . . . mind you, this concept goes for instancest when someone raises 10 times the BB to 2.50. For almost every player they are thinking "only 2.50, hell, I'm a CEO of a consulting firm, and have a million dollars in my Full Tilt account, I'll call." When they should be correctly thinking, "Holy ****, 10 times the BB, that's an awefully confident bet." But no, rarely will one think in the latter form. Thus, when it's time to raise preflop with your AK, KK, QQ, or any other premier hand, it's really being diminished due to the fact that many a player aren't giving you credit for raising 4,5, or even 10 times the big blind. Like I said earlier, holding KK, raising to 1.50, then proceed to being re-raised to 3, followed by mean coming over the top for 8, then watching him move all in on me for 13 more. Well, he cold have aces, however, there's almost my entire stack in the pot already, in addition to what he's put in, laying me no brainer odds to call. He flips up deuces, and rivers a deuce. Yes it happens to everyone. I understand, it's poker. But I cannot live with myself if I just sit her and get my ass spanked. I consider myself a knowledgable, student of the game, who is able to think in a logical form that will net huge gains in the long run. But right now I cannot avoid anything. I just busted out of a cash game after getting 2 flushes beat by 2 higher flushes, all within 15 minutes. That crap shouldn't happen at the frequency it does.
