i was just goofing around last night and entered in a play chip O8B tournament. its shorthanded at 5 players now as there are only 10 left and we are playing for a spot at the final table. the blinds are decent sized and its all folds to me on the button. i have 7752. its not even a decent hand, but i figure i could try to steal right here and raised it up. the bb flat calls and we see a flop. the bb i happen to notice seemed to be a good player. all his hands that he showed down were pretty good starting hands and seemed to be a player capable of folding to bets. so lets just assume for this hand that he's a good player.
the flop comes 8-8-7. the bb leads out and i raise. he re-raises letting me know for sure he has an 8. my question is even though its highly unlikely he has a better fullhouse right now, he can possibly draw to a higher one with his 8. also although i have a low draw, its not a great one and will have a hard time holding up. is re-raising here a bad option?
on 4th street, the turn card comes a 4. BB leads out? whats the play from here? if he has the nut low and an 8, he's freerolling to a scoop. i've got a low, but its far from a monster or even good low. how do you play this hand omaha 8/b guru's? |
