|
|
Need some help guys. I've been running into a lot of slowplay lately and I need to know how to handle it?
I seem to be getting gun shy because of it.
I have run into many pocket Aces and pocket Kings and these people are checking it all the way.WTF???
I had a guy the other day flop an Ace high flush.
I bet the flop.
He called.
I bet the turn.
He called.
I checked the river and HE FREAKIN CHECKED!?!?
What the heck kinda play is that??
I had 2 pair with no possible full house on the board, why would you check the river?
I know it's just one hand and maybe the guy was just a bad player but I have been running into a lot of slow play .
I guess I just want to know what you guys do against slow players? |

You want players to slowplay against you. It becomes more obvious when you are checkraised on the turn that you're hand is beat, and I think it saves you money if you can lay it down.
PS- don't get mad that somebody checked the nuts behind you on the river. Get Glad. |

Possible reasons for checking instead of betting when last to act with the nuts at the river.
#1 He's a dufus and didn't notice he had made his hand.
#2 He believes there is a good liklihood that you will fold if he bets, and he wants to see what you played that hand with. (He thinks the information is more valuable than the small chance you will call or raise his river bet.)
#3 Outside interferences were impairing his play, and the software timeout checked for him. |

I've done this. I know if I bet the guy will fold and I'd like to see what he was betting with. |
