i'm thinking i played it way too passively by checking the turn, fearing diamonds. it honestly never occurred to me that he could have top 2. river was what i thought was a good card but really was a bad one. advice? be brutally honest, i'm a newer player to omaha.
EDIT: after looking over the hand closely again, he only has 4 outs, correct? with a Q or a 7 we will chop the pot, and he can only win with the two jacks and two tens, correct? |

| well on the flop Id stay because not only do you have a set but you have an open ended straight draw. However on the turn there is 3 to a flush, which basically means your beat at this point so maybe you shoulda folded at that point. On the river, your still real vulnerable 1010, K10, 108, KK all beat you here so I dont think you can call here either. |

| Like pimp said, I would probably dump it on the turn. If I were going to play it differently though, I would lead out with a bet on the turn. If he has a hand like he does, he might be hard pressed to call fearing a straight or a flush. |

Six max I might have raised pre-flop with that hand. It's got drawing potential and I'd just rather not have five people go to the flop.
On the flop I like that you led out with the pot bet. If you get raised you can assume J,Q and fold. On the turn you can either bet pot or check-fold. If you bet and get raised you can let go. The straight draws are completely off the table at this point. The river is tougher. If you assume your opponent had the straight or flush, there's a good chance your boat is good here. You just have to pay the guy off.
But paying this guy off is just a loan. You should be able to get your money back from him quickly: he played two pair on a flopped straight board and a turned flush board. He'll get two pair all the time so whenever you have a hand you want to bet into him hard. |

While I agree with you that his flop call was questionable, I think his pot-sized bet on the turn was just good aggressive poker. Hero bet the flop hard and then backed off when the third diamond fell. So villain bets out to represent a made flush -- an opponent with a straight and no redraws would likely fold the winning hand. |
