| So, there I am in a 5.50 multi-table last saturday. I am playing a lower stakes tourney because i had cashed out about 700 two days earlier and was on the lookout for the cashout curse. So, three hours into play sitting on about 24 k in chips and we're in the money (top 27, but we were down to 16). I am on the button with blinds at 500/1000 and antes of 250, table folded to my action and i raise the pot, which was to 4675 with pocket queens and only small blind calls..raise of over 4k of his 11.5k stack. So, flop comes 4d 5c Qd....top set but an annoying flush draw, his turn to act and he checks, i want to put the pressure on him since i have him covered and fear the flush draw a little bit, so i just bet his all in (now about 7k). He thinks until nearly timing out but proceeds to call the rest of his stack off with Ah Jd, NO FLUSH DRAW!!!!!, turn is 2d which scares me a little and river is 3c, so before i finish my victory dance and call him a retard i realize the pot doesnt go to me, look a little close and notice that this fish just sucked out a runner runner straight. Unbelievable, shoulda been chip leader of entire tourney and cruised to final table. Luckily I tightened up and crawled to 6th place and made 50 bucks on the tourney, but what a way to lose half my stack. |
