Private Tournaments
Just Kidding. But it's an often asked question: "What's the password for the such'n'such tournament?" And the answer may surprise you: We don't know. Private tournaments are just that: private. Organizations put them together so that members of their organization can play and they typically provide the password only to their members. You can rest assured that if you are part of an organization that is having a private tournament, you probably already have the password. If not, they may not like you very much.
Forum Freerolls
About once a month, for the last three months anyway, there has been a freeroll for members of this forum that shows up in the Private tournament section of FTP. Nobody knows in advance when the next one will be or what the prizes will be for it. Typically an admin announces the tournament on here one day in advance, usually in a somewhat random thread, and posts the password there. The regular forum readers usually see the password in the course of reading through that day's posts. The casual reader (or random person coming to the forum just for the freeroll), however, has to search for it.
When this happens you will not receive help. Nobody will tell you what the password is. This isn't to be mean or spiteful -- the freeroll is open to all. The point is that the freeroll exists to help build the forum community. The more time you spend here, the more likely it is that you will see the password when it is posted or be able to find it quickly. The less time you spend here, the more effort you will likely have to expend. Yes, the regulars like that. No, we didn't make the rules.
The people who are giving you something for nothing did, so please respect those rules and don't ask for the password. The simple truth of the matter is that it would be much easier to find if 50 people didn't create new posts asking for it. Once that happens, you have 50 extra posts to sift through when you search and that doesn't help anybody, including you.

| This one is better though, plus this is in the section that people come to ask for passwords. |

Good point. I added a sentence to the first paragraph of the forum freeroll section to address both questions. |
