I've actually ordered many of the items, and considering I'm not exactly a high stakes player (NL $50 now), I think the points are fair:
- the red, white, and light blue flexfit hats + the black adjustable hat
- t-shirt with all the pro's at one table
- bad beat stress guy
- sunglasses
- deck of cards
- one of the posters
- mousepad
- keychain
- Phil Gordon DVD
- cell mate dash pad
- the navy blue hoodie (which I got yesterday) |

Umm, you came into this thread behind him Apollo.
I don't think any forum pro is the type of person who says nothing at all. If we weren't windbags we wouldn't have blue titles. |

...at least not when you realize that youre essentially getting them for free.
The comp points are just what they sound like...a bonus. And you get free stuff for them (including entries to tourneys), which is pretty sweet. One suggestion I would make for FTP is a direct entry buy-in for certain tourneys...that would be fairly popular, i think.
As far as cost effectiveness, its really what you make of it.
Consider this...
Harrington on Hold 'Em retails for $30 and takes 5000 FTPs to get. Lets say you decide to get that many points by playing single table SnGs.
That would require about $715 in entry fees or about $7865 in total entries to get. The ROI (return on investment) would have to be less than 38/100th of 1 per cent to actually fail to profit enough to pull money and just BUY the book. And if you cant make $7895 after spending $7865 in entries then i have to wonder how you got that much money in your bankroll in the first place.
But yeah, any item in any given sites point store will be overpriced, which is fine because its really is, when all is said and done, free....
Which, of course, means that its not overpriced at all |
