How come someone posted a message saying they didn't currently offer HORSE Sit n' go's? I'm pretty sure they do...

Are these SNGs still mostly skill-based? I'm just curious because the blind levels are only 6 minutes...

did anyone just consider making it impossible to sit out of horse games? play or stand up, if they stand up and wait for their "good" game, make it so once you stand up, you can only sit back down after all the games have rotated, and its back to the game that they stood up on. this cant be that hard, and a lot of people want horse for SnG and ring games, play money and real

I just played my first HORSE SNG at the dollar level and I love it! This is so much better than just having to play hold em against a bunch of maniacs.I want to thank FTP for offering HORSE SNGs at the lower levels so the smaller BRs have a nice alternative.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This is probably my favourite poker story so gather round and I shall tell you a tale.

It was a fairly boring Saturday night. Along with my best friend and my brother I was whiling away the night doing what we do best. Smoking pot and very little else. Not really feeling in the mood for poker myself the computer was free. My brother decided to have a game.

Feeling adventurous he decided to have a blast in a $1.25 buyin, 45 people HORSE tournament on Poker Stars. None of us had ever played HORSE before. I was just curious to see what the E stood for. We are all exclusively NLHE players and although we know the rules of Stud and Omaha we certainly wouldn't describe ourselves as good. Not even competent in fact. Nevertheless the small buy in and general boredom factor sealed the deal.

Then it began. Donk play reigned supreme as it normally does in such low buy in MTT's and my brother came through the first section of Limit HE reasonably well. Then came Omaha.

I find the game intriuging certainly but will admit without shame that I have no idea of what constitutes a good starting hand, what constitutes a good flop and pretty much everything else to do with the game. We adopted the philosophy of "When in doubt, do what a donk would do." It worked reasonably well again and the section passed without major incident.

Razz next and although we very rarely play it, we are on much safer ground than we are with Omaha and most other players don't seem to realise that it is a low hand that wins the pot as opposed to a high one. One guy was willing to call our raises all the way down with K9QJ showing against our 754A. After this section we were doing well and moved towards the top of the leaderboard.

The two Stud sections were horrific. By this stage the blinds/antes were HUGE in comparison to the average stack and people were getting desperate. We got involved in a few pots and got totally burned and ended up back on around about the average stack size.

We then made a decision. the HE section was were we could make hay so if we had any sort of hand we would thrash it to within an inch of its life. The strategy worked thanks to some super agressive but not suicidal play coupled with some very nice hands. Back amongst the leaders again and looking good.

Anyway to cut an already long story short we ended up all in about three Omaha sessions down the line, thought we were out because we can't decipher the hands properly but were then surprised to see the chips slide our way.

Then all of a sudden we were in the money. God only knows how. By this stage people were dropping like flies. We ended up winning the tournament. Proof if any were ever needed that it is possible to win at Poker even when you don't know what the hell is going on three quarters of the time. A highly enjoyable as well as confusing session.

I know what HORSE it is, but where can you find the basics for each type of game? I play Hold 'Em, I have played Omaha (some), have recently learned RAZZ (and LOVE it), have played Stud games but haven't got into it much.
I've gone to the playmoney tables to try and figure it out - sometimes you can't get an accurate answer, or even an answer from those playing - they just see you as a FISH, and take advantage of that. Do you have one place that describes the basic of each game I could spend hours reading the FORUM - but I want to PLAY not read! (thats if I find what I'm looking for! If you can help me in this it would be greatly appreciated! I come to the Forum if i have a question if you answer this would be sure to get it at my e~mail: skeeter45_2@hotmail.com Thanks

HORSE is a mixed game, which is played as a fixed-limit game on Full Tilt. Each letter stands for a different game, and the game changes every time the level changes in a tournament.

The five games are:
H = Hold'em
O = Omaha High Low (8 or better)
R = Razz
S = Seven Stud High
E = Seven Stud High Low (8 or better)

We don't currently offer HORSE as a side game, because it would be too easy for players to sit out during their weaker games, and only play their stronger games.

We don't currently offer HORSE as a Sit & Go, because there is not enough time between levels, so you might only play a few hands of a certain game before the game changes.
