Its a roller coaster. I try to only play razz shorthand 6 players or less. You can steal alot more pots this way and suffer less bad beats in big multiplayer pots. .

Yes Razz can be frustrating. It is a game that is designed to make players go on tilt. Lose their shirt, frustrate them. Players after playing razz for a good period of time always come out looking like they just got beat up in the back of an alley no matter if they won or loss. Though another thing about razz is you can be extremely happy at times. Jumping up and down that you hit running 5 6 to kill your opponents 7 high.
It is a game that many players can't stand. I for one love to play it though it can really make you feel battered after a while.

Between the fact that its a limit game and a lot of your cards are exposed in razz, that equates to an online game that is MOSTLY luck. If you enjoy lotto and bingo you will have fun at razz, usually people with half a brain do not enjoy the whims of fate controlling their money.

No poker game is mostly luck. This is the comment that comes from people who have played only one or two games and failed at others. Like all poker there is a proper strategy and utilizing allows the best players to win. Not luck and fate.

Razz is a game where only true patience actually pays off. Nothing can put a player on tilt more easily than starting with a perfect A234, then ending up with a pair of Aces for low. (Believe me, it really sucks!) But for those able to take these hands without blowing their tops (i.e., Buddist monks), should be able to make a decent payday.

I think that razz requires at least as much skill as hold 'em or omaha. However, it is less about reading people and more about thinking - which cards are out, which ones you need, etc. It's more complicated (slightly) to figure out odds than in hold 'em.
I once got rolled up kings in razz. Seriously, I actually cried. The worst thing is, I was playing a 7-stud game at the same time - I was really excited for a sec. Then I wondered why I had to bring in the bet... Don't ever play a high and low version fo the same game at the same time - it will only cause you pain... |

Well, let me clear things up a bit. Any decent player can go to a razz game with top pros and come out with a profit. Does this mean that the game is all luck? Absolutely not. This game requires a lot of skill and if you don't agree with that FlopQuads, then perhaps we should play some razz together for a while, and then, maybe you'll see it my way.

I disagree. Go to FTPfan.com and look at the razz leaderboard. Take note of the top 100 players. Write the names down and if you see them at your table run. Razz can have it's moments of frustration where your great A 2 3 4 on 4th runs into K K J, but generally the better players usually win. It's an extremely mathmatical game. And if you still don't believe me, come roll with me HU sometime.

If you are a good razz player you do come out looking beat because unlike the luck theory you should always be counting outs and cards threw the hand. The same as holdem but in razz you see so many of your opponents cards you can know you are the winner no matter what or the looser whith a great drawing hand. Like all games you can get lucky or unlucky. So know your outs and what everyone has folded and compare it to both you and your opponents hands to find out if you or he is ahead and who has the best drawing hand. It is more of a game of thought i feel than holdem.
